Others say, Observe the speed limits, or Dont shoot anybody, or License your dog. So far, nobody has said, The Supreme Law of the Land is the Constitution of the United States, as We the People decree in Article VI of the Constitution. I wonder what would happen in this country if the people actually set about to live by the Constitution? James Madison said, ...while the Constitution exists, (the people) must conform themselves to its dictates. But the Constitution dictates to government, not to the people. So how can we go about conforming ourselves to its dictates? First, we must refuse to obey statutes which conflict with the natural and obvious meaning of the Constitution. For example, it is illegal to register a gun, because the Constitution plainly says, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. No qualifications, no exceptions. if we do not resist the attempts of the I.R.S. to force us to reveal our personal lives, we are accessories to their crimes. We are not helpless victims, but rather partners in crime with them. We the People must face up to the fact that we are even more culpable for the miserable condition of our country than are those politicians whom we have elected. American, if you think you arc keeping the law, check yourself through a very short list. Is your home financed or insured through FHA? Is your education federally funded in any way, as through student loans, 4-H or subsidized concerts? Do you use food stamps? Do you draw Social Security? Do you listen to Public radio or Do you use federally subsidized transportation? Has your business floated a loan from the Small Business Administration? This list is a mere scratch on the surface of the colossal pile of federal programs used by the American people. It s wise to know about the more exotic spending projects of the Federal Government, but the programs that keep the tyrants in power arc much closer to home.
