Show The Paper That Dares To Take A Stand March 20. 1975 The Utah Independent Page 3 NEW ORDER A conference for u New Order" has just concluded, Washington TOM ANDERSON RETURN TO CONSTITUTION of meeting over the week-en- d 20-2- 2. under the billing February National Conference on of American Federalism in Action". This conference was the program of the Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations (AC1R), a Ford Foundation financed, Washington based, think tank and sponsor of State sample bills to Constitutions and to push uniform State laws. The three day conference brought some thirty speakers together all with one cause unchain government, and give it unlimited powers. A twelve page open letter to Texas officials has been prepared by Joe Sims. Sequin. Texas 78155. and available from Center for National Policy Review, Suite 109. 1509 16th St., N.W.. Washington. D.C. 20036. that documents the case against ACIR. The 350 or so attendees gave a rising ovation to two speakers. Governor Wendell Anderson. Dof re-wri- Most people believe the Big Lie that we have 6 million unemployed. And they dont even bother to ask what means. unemployed According to the November 1974, Labor Monthly Review," 1.8 million of these "unemployed were teenagers; l.S million were women; and 1.2 million were part-tim- e workers. Also, about half of those included in the preposterous 6 million figure had been jobless for less than five weeks. All but seven percent find new jobs within 26 weeks, and the average length of unemployment for all the jobless, was less than 10 weeks. so-call- ed to According Labor Department figures, for 1974, only 386,000 people were out of work for 27 weeks or more. Whose statistics can one believe. I dont know. (Figures dont lie but liars do figure.) But I do know that there are hundreds of thousands of jobs going begging in this country. Does every government owe teenager, every housewife (even though her husband may earn $30,000), every incompetent person, everybody who refuses to take a job that is beneath him, & job at taxpayers expense? No. Actually, the government doesnt owe anybody a job. National bankruptcy and runaway inflation are getting a e arm by Big further Brothers $8 billion shot-in-th- public make-wor- k, job service for program 1975. Everything the government is will doing, in the long-ru- n make everything worse; will hasten our descent into a controlled and regimented Welfare State. And completely maybe it is being planned that way. As that colossal cheat, Franklin D. Roosevelt once In politics, nothing said, happens by accident; it is all planned. In the public service jobs, the political as bureaucrats known leeches are talking about paying salaries of from $7,000 to $10,000. That means that Big Brother would steal tax money from people making as little as $2.00 an hour in honest work to give it to derelicts, bums, strikers, and incompetents at the rate of from $3.50 an hour to $5.00 an hour. No wonder so-call- ed more more and good Americans are refusing to fill out an income tax form. Once program this outrageous gets underway, thousands of small businesses who cant pay $3.50 an hour for menial labor, will be dreadfully hurt. And so will some big businesses. Thousands of people will quit honest jobs to get on the federal teat. Thus will debt, taxes, and inflation get worse, and worse, and worse until the Big Crash, the Revolution, the Dictatorship. - THINGS WE NEED TO DO Yes, our leaders are doing the opposite of what should be done. Here are some of the things we need to do to save our freedom and our capitalistic system and to head - off inflation deflation and return to prosperity: 1. Stop the creation of new money. (Inflation is too much money chasing too few 2. Get back to work and once again compete with the world (no more less and less production for more and more pay and fringe benefits). 3. No more deficit financing. 4. Drastic reductions the and size scope in of government. Make strikes by public employees illegal. 6. Make it illegal to have to belong to a labor union to 5. hold a job. Kill foreign aid. 7. 8. Deport the 10 million illegal aliens, drastically reduce even legal immigration, and make it illegal for an employer to hire an illegal immigrant. 9. Kill H.E.W. and the food stamp program and get federal the government completely out of welfare. 10. Let ail adults who refuse to take any honest job, go hungry. If they have dependent children, put them in work gangs, if necessary. 1 1 . Kill the minimum able-bodi- ed wage. 12. Kill industry-wid- e union bargaining. 13. Sell to the highest bidder, and thus put on the tax rolls, those more than 3,000 corporations as TVA) which are (such nowhere authorized in the Constitution. 14. Adopt a foreign policy and a tariff policy which is for America first. 15. Kill the Sixteenth Amendment (the federal income tax) and substitute, therefore, an tax never to exceed 10 percent of any individual, corporation, cooperative, or Foundation income. Hawkins prepared the California Reform Local Government study for Gov. Ronald Reagan, who in turn disapproved its recommendations for more local control". THIS TIME ITS THE C.P.S.C. A new and very serious threat to the private ownership of firearms and ammunition has just arisen. And this time it is not from a bill poised for passage in the Congress but a potential edict from the Consumer Product Safety Commission. The C.P.S.C. is presently considering whether to ban handgun ammunition as a dangerous product. Consideration for the above ban came as the result of a court ruling from the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. It seems that a Committee for Hand Gun Control filed a suit to force the C.P.S.C. to ban handgun ammunition as dangerous. The court then ruled that the C.P.S.C. must give consideration to the scheme. The thought of the federal government banning all handgun ammunition is bad enough. But a thorough analysis of the proposed method whereby the law to effect the ban would come into existence is, by itself, enough to strike terror into the heart of any freedom-lovin- g person. The C.P.S.C. is, of course, an agency in the executive branch of the government. None of its agents, including those who write the laws it enforces, arc elected by the people. This results in an agency which has tremendous raw, unrestrained power over the people but is itself under absolutely no control whatsoever BY the people. And this writer asks every serious thinking American, What more is needed for a dictatorship? For students of constitutional law, it is also very interesting to ask by what legal precedent of authority guided the judge in his ordering any agency of the federal government, much less one of the executive branch, to even give consideration to passing a particular piece of legislation? Chairman Richard O. Simpson of C.P.S.C. has invited public comments on this issue through April 15th. Such comments should be directed to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Box 8137, Washington, D.C. 20024. Let's all get busy and send a deluge of mail emphasizing the ridiculousness of the above proposal and insisting that the C.P.S.C. refuse to take any steps on the matter. FLASH: A few minutes before this article was to go to the typesetter, this writer received a telephone call regarding the unconstitutional confiscation of the tools and means of livelihood of a citizen of American Fork, Utah by the Internal Revenue Service. True to form, the I.R.S. had no court order, nor had the victims ever had anv trial. More on this in this column in the next issue.
