Show INTER-MOUNTAI- load ore; from the Dragon Iron mine, 4 carloads ore. One of the South Swansea directors states to the Miner that negotiations for the purchase of a steam hoist for that property will be completed this week and that it will be erected and In operation by July 1st. Sinking in the shaft is being continued as usual. Ore hauling from the Dragon Iron mine was resumed Monday and the mine is now sending out its regular shipments of two carloads per day. Eureka Democrat: The main feature of the week is the start on the great silver bullion shipment of the Eureka Hill Mining company. The first consignment of five tons went forward over the Union Pacific express on Wednesday, followed by a like consignment on Thursday, and it is expected daily shipments will be made until the entire amount of some twenty odd tons will be marketed. This is said to be the largest single shipment of silver bullion ever made at one time from a mine. No accurate data is available as to the probable cash value of this vast bulk of silver, but by conservative estimate it cannot fall short of $200,000. This bullion is the product of the milling grade of ore for some five months past. The working shaft at the Home Stake mine has been retimbered for the first fifty feet, the grading completed, the gallows frame for the whim hoist is up and as soon as the whim arrives it will be put in place and sinking will begin. At the same time a drift has been started from the station, where the main shaft has cut the vein, which shows a face of good shipping ore. Some of the finest samples of horn silver are being taken from the recent of the Bullion-Bec- k strike on the mine that have ever been developed in that famous property, and the best part of it is there is plenty of it. 140-fo- ot 000-lev- el Salt Lake County. WEST MOUNTAIN DISTRICT. Bingham Bulletin: The new ore body opened up in the Dalton and Lark is proving the most important yet encountered in that great property. It not only establishes a large area of new stoping ground, bub yesterday was showing fully 12 feet of good ore at the face. The mines are daily increasing their output, and shipments for June promise to largely exceed those of any previous month. The Petro has at last completed its great drain and working tunnel from the Cottonwood side, and results obtained are highly important. It not only gives perfect drainage to the vein, but taps it at a depth of 1200 feet, exposing a large body of good grade ore. The Petro is one of Binghams big mines. Solomon Bros, of Salt Lake have leased and bonded the General Grant, Coyote and Governor, a promising group at the head of Markham gulch, and' are building quarters and perfecting arrangements for continuous work. The Northern Chief, at the head of Porcupine, is this week finishing up a n shipment of unusually fine ore. The Chief is a property of great promise, and will make a large output this summer if Manager Keel decides to work it for production. The Alls Well, Gladstone and Copper Plant, promising copper claims next to the What Cheer in Bingham canyon, has' been bonded and leased by J. B. Stephens & Co. to Salt Lake parties, who are preparing to do considerable work. The Cuba, a prospective Carr fork bonanza, is in a streak of ore running way up, and there are pointers that the workings will soon run into a large body of the same stuff. MINING REVIEW. N 9 I mill to save both gold and silver, in Florence. H. K. Owen of Seattle is president of the company and C. M. Huff is manager. The mill will do custom work and will not be confined to the output of any one mine. Ore has been milled during the past winter from the Gilt. Edge, Banner, Gold Bug, Keystone, Elkhorn, Overlander, Ozark, St. Charles and Hi-yThe returns have been uniformly satisfactory. Patsy Clark, the Montana millionaire, is now interested in the Standard and Bimetallic, in Florence, and he will visit the camp as soon as the weather will permit of comfortable travel over the mountains. If it still exists at that point the shaft will go down 200 feet more. This will prove the mine pretty thoroughly. The property is owned by Denver men. Placer mining continues with an abundance of water. The snow is just beginning to disappear from the summits of the surrounding mountains. The owners of the Lagracosia are striking very good ore in the tunnel, although they have some distance to go yet before reaching the best ore. Shoshone County. Wallace correspondence Wardner News: With the exception of the Frisco mine, which is running full blast, there is but little doing at any of the mines on Canyon creek. There are about forty men on the Standard and about forty on the Gem, all of whom are doing development work. The mine is filled with water, but about fifty men are working on the new concentrator. The Standard concentrator at this place is closed down. Tiger-Poorm- an Owyhee County. Silver City Avalanche: A tig strike was made in No. 3 tunnel of the Trade Dollar on the 5th instant, one which is proving to be one of the best ever made in the camp. In the adit tunnel, 400 feet below, the heading has been in a rich chute of ore for 300 feet, past which it is rich as ever in the face. No. 3 heading did not reach this chute until last Friday, when it struck it at exactly the spot where it should have been found, taking into consideration the pitch of the chute. At the time of our visit yesterday, the drift was about 12 feet into the ore body, disclosing one of the prettiest sights which can be seen k is in any mine. The rich in inches width, varying fully eight from one hundred to several thousand ounces per ton, while the vein (about two and one-ha- lf feet), is good grade milling rock. The streak on the foot-wa- ll is literally plastered with native silver, and much of the rock is so rich that portions can be whittled like lead. When it is taken into consideration that this chute has been opened in the adit tunnel for a length of 300 feet and is now exposed 400 feet above by the No. 3, it is quite conclusive evidence that it to the surface, a perpendicular reaches IDAHO. distance of 1000 feet. White Pine News: The latest development in the Chainman mine shows the body of high-grad- e ore encountered about the first of the year to be one of the largest as well as richest so far uncovered. The Chainman company have drifted over 200 feet on the strike of the ore and sunk to a depth of 150 feet on the dip. The ore vein averages from eight to ten feet wide, and shows every indication of increasing as it goes down. This body assays all the way trom $35 to $34G in gold, and in connection with the large bodies of pay ore developed prior to this strike, makes the amount of pay ore now uncovered in this mine almost unlimited. Pioche Record: While no change of ar management has occurred in the property, yet all indications point to the conclusion that it soon De-Lam- will, and' that too as soon as a property of such magnitude and wealth can be properly inspected, valued and taken possession of. Mr. Charles M. Rolker, who has charge of the corps of experts now sampling the property, represents a London syndicate with untold capital behind it, and he is rushing his work along on every line with all speed, and yet from best reports obtainable the examination will not be completed for some time. After that, whether the property will change hands on his report, or whether a further examination at the hands of other parties will be required, are matters of speculation, but no direct change of management is likely to occur within sixty or ninety days to come, and possibly longer. ARIZONA. Mohave County Miner: While prospecting on Shirttail mountain, in the River range, a few days ago, Steve Bedell discovered an immense vein of gold ore. He was sitting on a boulder and carelessly broke off a piece of the rock. He was dumbfounded to find that it was full of gold. More rock was broken with the same result. The ledge crops up boldly along the mountain ridge and is sixty feet in width. Samples taken from across the surface gave a return of $40 per ton. This is one of the big ledges of the Black Range that capital should take notice of. Prospectors in the ChemeheuviS mountains are finding very rich float, but so far have been unable to locate the source. Some pieces that were shown us this week are filled with coarse gold, such as was produced by the old Moss mine in early days. The Mountain Jewel mine in War-niccanyon is looking nicely and producing plenty of good ore. An arastra run by a gasoline engine crushes about one thousand pounds of free milling ore per day.
