This is not a theory but a fact to be seen in at least forty-tw- o countries, and developing In all of the rest For rile creation of better Individuals, no more effCotlve force can be discovered In action, because the domination of society by the capitalist system la depressing the duality of Individuals; and there can he little hope for the perfection of the individual until released from the incubus of capitalistic methods which spares neither age, science nor people. From the writings of James Peter Warbasse. A GRAND PROGRAM Roosevelt The program outlined by president-elec- t is the biggest thing yet thought out by any statesman during the times of depression. He has given the highlights of a grand project which, if carried out, will do wonders for America both In the matter of employment of men and development of the country.. But, good as It is. It does not get at the roots of the trouble and Is, at best, but another big patch on the capitalistic system. On the other side of the water Chancellor Adolf Hitler is proposing a great big four-yeprogram In Germany. Hitler's scheme Is also yary good, but, sorry to eay, only patch work, and the old garment of capitalism must wear completely out sooner or later. Better try N. D. A. which will make and fit the new garment that will never wear out. ar SELF HELP Some historian will chronicle it as a great day in of this nation when unemployed labor took off its coat, rolled up its sleeves and went forth on the economic field of battle to exchange labor for food and necessities. Unemployed labor has suffered beyond the power of words to tell and there are no finer examples of Initiative, industry and patriotism than are seen in their efforts. y TELL THE TRUTH Some one says, "Give the people the truth and they will find the way," That should be Changed to read, 'Get a majority of the people to understand the truth and they will find the way to saye themselves." There are some, the Natural Development Association among them, who are teaching the people the truth. But there are so many agencies telling them that what they think is not the truth. The everlasting struggle of the financial, political and social leaders has been to keep the people divided by keeping the truth from them. What a day of reckoning there will be for the big neiwepapers and tbe magaslnes when they shall stand face to face with a united people to make answer for having concealed and kept back the truth. ORGANIZING First- Get a copy of tbe book. Natural Government, by BenJ. B. Btrlngham and read it thru carefully and 'study it thoroughly to your own satisfaction. Be very sure you understand it and agree with the ays-tem outlined In this book. Also, read the paper "Progressive Independent" and the other literature now published by the Natural Development Association. This literature Is published for your benefit, as we are only trying to get people to do - In a local crisis at Boston in 1772, Samuel Adams formed a Committee of Correspondence to state the rights of citizen. This Committee of Correspondence, which federated the local committees formed throughout the Colonies, was a very important factor in uniting the colonies for action and leading them to take a stand which resulted In the Revolutionary War and forming PROGRESSIVE THINKING ALONG LINES. When the Union. The immortal germs of their written and CONSTRUCTIVE you have done this you are ready words found into their of Declaration spoken the way President Hoovers Research Commission did not go far enough when It said silence was more than neutrality, It was assent It la much more than assent Facing the problems before ns today and keeping silent Is next to criminality. Talk about keeping silent when great men of the country e saying such things s the following: "Down, down wa go. Nnemployment, the greatest in the history of the world, has multiplied and multiplied until today it approximates 16,000,000 souls, who with of our poputheir dependents number nearly lation." City landlords have given up trying to collect rent from stores. The menace of eviction from their homes one-thir- d faces one in every three tenants: "The country faces the worst situation in its history. We face the greatest test that any nation has ever faced, iwitnesslng as we do the swift collspse of all our accepted economic standards, and the disintegration of the world price system in yogne for 7000 years. Greed for money; greed for material things and power in the hands of the few has brought to the doors civilisation prospects of a great of a Twentieth-Centur- y human disaster such as never before has been known to any civilisation on this earth." Tec, great minds are speaking out suCh thoughts as the above, and In the light of their truth it la no time for silence. We have a remedy and we know that it will cure and save and it ia our duty to shout it from the housetops. Natural Development is the foundation, the working plan of salvation, and we will be derelict in our duty and held to answer for our rins of omission If we do not herald our message to the world. Let us repeat that silence is next to criminality. BITTER PHILOSOPHY Clarence Darrow didnt help the world much when he gaye out his recent Interview sayjlng that be had no encouragement for the young bloods Just starting out sooner they Jump out of looking for Jobs and that the window, the sooner theyll find peace the only peace What if we all said that. This will be answered with sn organiser to aid you In the many details and who will help select your Board of Trustees and get your unit set up. Fifth In arranging for accommodations for the organiser, the cost may be either taken care of by members of the group and credit given them, or they may donate this service to the cause. It Is our plan for the organisers to be very conservative in their expenses as that is one phase of we believe In with regards to helping others to enjoy the fruits of the N. D. A. plan. The following may be used as a suggestive Introduction, or conversation with the restaurant or hotel management, or any other business, to arrange for their services and cooperation In the N. D. A. program. Mr. Smith, could you handle more restaurant trade than you are getting, (No doubt his answer would be) "why yes, of course" Mr. Smith, would you be willing to pay me a ten per cent commission for all the business that I can account for and that I will turn to you if I will set up an office, carry my own overhead and advertise your business In various ways?" "In doing this business our plan of operating is to use a system of coupon checks as a medium of exchange or a record of transaction Instead of the silver dollar. Ton know Mr. Smith, your business is tough. I can see It and you realise It. The reason for that is, there to not enough cash in circulation for people to operate business on, so we are organising and operating a plan of our own which will bring about more equal distribution of wealth. Our organisation to the "Natural Development Association Incorporated to do business on a coupon check transaction without the use of money." We are operating a unit here and will maintain a store to handle anything that we are forced to handle thru lack of on the part of those who have control of needed commodities. Our store will be started out In a very unpretentious way and will grow naturally along with the rest of the organisation. This mill give Immediate value to our coupon check or Vallar Check, as we call It, which wa will use very similarly to money. This, you see, makes It so we can operate on a plan of ocr own that will guarantee the necessities of life to' those who are and help themwilling to selves and help others thru This will aid the unemployment situation and do much to overcome the depression. We also Intend to get the of all the business people along the seam lines which we are suggesting to you, so It wlH be a very popular game of business, extending volume for at least csrrylng local overhead. After all, Mr. Smith, I am no more responsible for this depression than you are, and It Is Just as much your responsibility as an Amer--tca- n dtlsen as mine or as Franklin D. Roosevelts to get us out of this economical entanglement that we are in. May me also state that each one of your employes has his responslbll Ity Just as you and I have. Would It not be much better to pay part of their salary In- the N. D. A. Vallar than to give them reduction in salary or relieve them of the Job as your business grows worse, thus adding to the nnemployment situation and thereby Increasing the distress of today. The above irjust a suggestion to create an open minded consideration on the part of the restaurant or cafe owner and, of course, the same would be true In regards to the hotel manager or any other business man on for the next step.
