Mayor Hansen was the first speaker, and laid before the assemblage the proposition of the city council, namely, to take out water for a power plant at Crow-themill, six miles from town, and build and equip a plant with wiring and other necessary mat erial, capable of producing 1000 horse power, or 10,000 i6 can die power lights. It is estimated that this plant will cost $60,000 and the sum can be borrowed at 4 per cent. Mr. Hansen stated that the investigations of the committee proved conclusively that the city can pay principal and interest from the revenues derived from the plant and with out any increase in taxes. This has been the experience so far of the cities visited by the committee. Councilman E. W. Robinson followed in an extended statement as to the benefits derived from municipal lighting plants by other xities. Mr. C.Garff also discussed the matter briefly. Questions were asked by Messrs.
