Show L N MEETING on friday last tho the farmers protective association held a rousing meeting at Ilone for the purpose of electing three now new members ot of the board ot of governors and listening to a discussion of matters of imports importance to the association and tho the farmers generally the report of the stae farm bureau was presented and discussed at length especially that part which dealt with the sugar beet situation it was unanimously agreed to demand ol of the sugar company a flat roto of per ton for sugar beets tor for 1917 and to also demand that the testing of beets in the field bo be done not later than the of october each year in order that the harvesting season may bo be inaugurated as early in tile the year as possible so as to overcome overcame the possibility of a recurrence of the conditions which confronted the growers this past season tile the new directors chosen were john 11 barnard george C dewey and leon jensen the meeting was an all enthusiastic expression of the desires of the farmers and they announced their intention ct cf standing together in securing these benefits tile the mcevins adjourned to recon reconvene ve lle again in the very near future to further talk over problems of the farmer |
