To this day there are Corvette collectors, enthusiasts, dreamers and investors all across the country. All of them want the same thing, to experience the pleasure and the deja' vu of owning one of those wonderful vintage Corvettes. Even special clubs have been created just for the Corvette enthusiast. One of the larger ones is the Corvette Club of America, based in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Membership in the club which helps bring Corvette enthusiasts together to share notes, sources, and triumphs is just $35 a year. But apparently the Corvette craze is something that has been for sometime. Proof of that is the story of millionaire Richard Sampson and his love for his 1954 white Corvette. The car was recently obtained Among Sampson's holdings was a grocery store in New Brunswick, Maine. Sampson decided to have a special brick vault constructed in the middle of the grocery store. The vault was not for his money, but for his Corvette which was to be sealed in, upon his death. Sampson's will offered no special explanation of his wishes, only that he wanted the then almost new 1954 Corvette to in the middle of the grocers store until the year 2000. Things didn't turn out quite the way Sampson had ordered in his will, however. By 1986. the grocery stoie was no longer part of the Sampson family properties. Eventually the new owners of the grocery store wanted more room for groceries and less remain sealed up According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). approximately 75 percent of all auto crashes occur w ithin 25 miles of home, on roads world is looking for. With the ability to maintain highway speeds, electric cars can replace their gas cousins for everyday travel. Besides saving energy, electrical vehicles cause 97 percent less pollution than cars using gasoline, Electrical cars are also quieter, cost less than half as much to operate and, most important, their fuel can be derived from renewable sources of energy. Reasons electric vehicles are needed: Limited oil reserves According to the Air 1990 670 billion barrels of petroleum will last only 33 years. That sets the timetable at 2023 when gasoline w ill be a thing of the past. The United States has less than to save a little time. Yet it happens more often than one might think. Quality Seventy percent of air pollution is caused by gas vehicles, according to the Florida Department of Motor Vehicles. Tiki often, convenience takes precedence over the safety of small children who, by law, should be buckled into child car scats. Taking the time to make sure that children are properly restrained is the most important part of running errands. Dr. Mark Widonte, prolessor of pediatrics at The Pennsylvania State University College ol Medicine, said. "If there is any one thing a parent can do to add measurably to a child's safety during the first few years, it is to put him or her in a child safety seat when traveling in a car. In the event of a crash or sudden stop the child will be more secure. "If you have a child under the age of four andor under 40 pounds, you need a child safety seat." Widome said. "But it's not enough just to buy a child safety seat: parents must Despite assurances otherwise, techniques still allow some petroleum to leak out into the ocean. Besides benefiting the world in general, electrical cars provide car owners with certain advang tages not found in their 5 percent of the worlds proven reserves and imports half the 17 million barrels consumed daily.
