Hayrides are running through Saturday, Dec. 21 from 6 to 9 p.m. Rides will also be available on Monday, Dec. 23, from 6 to 9 p.m. Large family groups, business groups or just neighborhood troops can also schedule rides Sunday through Thursday by reservations only. The ride will depart from the parking lot at Burger Stop, located at 323 Gentile Street in Layton. Riders will experience the lights, sounds and sights of Christmas as they wind their way through Layton Commons Park. Santa will even make an appearance with candy canes for all the little ones. Cost for the hayride is $2.50 for adults, $1.50 for children 10 and younger. Riders under 5 years old are free. A group discount of 20 percent is offered to larger groups than 10. All proceeds will be donated to Primary Children's Medical Center, ALS and Hospice. To make reservations any other questions call Burger Stop at 544-809- Friday. Dec. 13 Temple Square Concert Series, 7:30 p.m., Assembly Hall. Musicians drawn from the Salt Lake Symphony will perform Christmas chamber music. Sunday. Dec. 15 The Bountiful First Southern Baptist Church, 1500 S. 240 West, will present a Christmas musical program on Dec. 15 at 6 p.m. The musical is a mixture of traditional and new carols about the many names of Jesus. Wonderful Name, is full of beautiful music, drama and scripture. The public is invited to this celebration. Sunday. Dec. 15 The South Davis Civic Chorale presents Handels Messiah at 7:30 p.m., V'iewmont High School auditorium, Bountiful. Featuring Michael Huff, musical director; Jennifer Larson, soprano; Mary Ann James Dresher, mezzo-sopranMurphy, tenor; Steven E. Meredith, baritone. Admission free with suggested donation of food items for the Utah Food Bank. Children age 8 and older welcome. Tbesdav. Dec. 17 The Utah Symphony and Chorus will perform in the Dee Event Center at Weber State University in Ogden, 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 or $15 for adults and $6 for students and can be purchased by calling 399-921- Thursday. Dec. 17 Musica Reservata, an early music ensemble of singers and instrumentalists, will present a Christmas concert, Joy and Grace Abounding at the First Unitarian Church, 569 S. 1300 East, Salt Lake City on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at the door and at Discrimator Music. Here Comes Santa Claus will be performed at 1 and 2:30 p.m. in Abravanel Hall. The concert will last about an hour. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students and may be purchased by calling or by visiting the box office at 123 West South Temple, Salt Lake City. During the holiday season the Utah Symphony will conduct a food drive. Receptacles will be available at Abravanel during the holiday season and audiences Saturday.
