Show I)' Obituaries r Ethel B. Herbert BOUNTIFUL Ethel Brough Herbert, age 92, died Nov. 11, 1995 in Bountiful, Utah. Born Oct. 10, 1903 in El wood, Utah (now East Tremonton) the daughter George and Nancy Ann La Rocque CENTERVILLE Nancy Ann La Rocque, age 59, passed away Nov. 12, 1995 from cancer. Born Oct. 18, in 1936 Nov. 17, 1988. They were married 61 years. Ethel was a dedicated wife, mother and teacher and had a great love for children. Was active in the LDS Church, serving many years as Primary president in Sterling. She is survived by one son, Earl Worcester,a Massachusetts, of daughter Wilfred Joseph and Philomena Irene Cantwell B. Herbert, St. George; one daughter, of Albert Mrs. Carrol (Elaine) Harrison, Eastview, Kentucky; nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Helen B. Haacke, Bountiful; and Mrs. Donna Edith Anderson Brough early pioneers to the Veltheim. Married La P. James Rocque May 3, 1956 in Worcester. Had lived in Worcester, Mass.; California and Utah. Was a member of the St. Olafs Catholic Church. Huntsman, St. George. Funeral services will be Tuesday, valley. She attended schools in East Tremonton. In 1918 attended high school in Brigham City, Utah. She also attended the University of Utah and was a teacher in Magna for four years and in later years taught in Aberdeen, Ida. and Grandview, Ida. Herbert June 22, Nov. 21, 11 a.m. at Lindquists Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E., where friends may call Monday, 8 Survivors include her husband, 6-- p.m. and 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services on Tuesday. (Eva) La Rocque, Bountiful; James W. La Rocque (Lisa), Quartzhill, Calif.; one grandchild; sister, Joan Murray, Santa Clarita, Calif.; preceded in death by her mother and father. Interment will be in Bountiful City Cemetery. Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 16 at St. Olafs Donna Jeanne Hilton Gardner direciton of Lindquists Bountiful 1927 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They farmed in Sterling, Ida. for 40 years. Frank preceded her in death Donna Jeanne Hilton Gardner died Monday, November 13, 1995 in Salt Lake City, UT of respiratory failure following major cancer surgery. She was 53. Donna was born March 5, in 1942 " Albuquerque, New Mexico to Lyle Hilton and Electa Sally from Palmer. She graduated School High Highland Albuquerques in 1960, an honor student, pianist, high school band and orchestra member, and valedictorian. She attended Brigham Young University and was affiliated with the Tokalons, White Key Scholastic Honor Society, BYU Ballroom Dance Team and was selected National Duchess of Intercollegiate to Belle of the Knights and runner-u- p Y. She also served in a campus Stake Relief Society Presidency. Donna graduated with high honors in 1964, earning a B.A. in English and a minor in music. She married Robert Quinn Gardner, son of Ralph Rollie M. Gardner and Grace Robinson of Colorado Springs, CO on June 1, 1964. Donna taught English at Pleasant Grove and Orem then High Schools from 1964-196left the formal teaching profession to raise a family of seven daughters and one son. A faithful member of the LDS Church and devoted student of the scriptures, Sister Gardner served as Primary president. Through her devotion and daily comport, she leaves a legacy of love and faith in all she taught and influenced. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, President R. Quinn Gardner, her children, Michelle (Mrs. Milan Detweiler); Gail (Mrs. Kevin Sears); Latter-da- self- y Deborah; Jeffrey; Jennifer; Amy; and Christine; and grandchildren, Bradford and Joseph Sears, and Christine Detweiler; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Hilton, now of Mesa, AZ; brothers Dale Hilton, of Albuquerque, N.M; Steven Hilton; of Springfield, VA; Kent Hilton of Las Vegas, NV; and sister Gail Wood of Walnut Creek, CA. She has toured with a USO group, been featured soloist in the Temple Square A National Vocal Competition. Shawna will be joined in this years Tis the Season by a return appearance of the Just a Portion Gospel Choir, the Top Brass quintet, the Bountiful Madrigals and other gifted musical personalities. Tis the Season will be presented three nights, Dec. 2, 3 and 4 at 7 p.m. in the Bountiful Community Church, 150 N. 400 E. The concert is free. A gifted writer, Donna was a 1993 Ensign Poetry Contest winner; her poem entitled Stones was published in the September 993 Ensign. She was also a gifted pianist, disciplined student and teacher, lover and avid pursuer of the cultural arts, music, and literature, a talented seamstress, dedicated homemaker, and cherished mother. A righteous woman who devoted her whole energies to raising her cherd ished family, Donna created a Catholic Church.
