Although Dewey grew up in Pennsylvania, he is no stranger to the west. He was bom in California and received his BA and MBA from Boise State University. After joining the Postal Service in 1974 as a distribution clerk in Boise, Idaho, Dewey moved to positions of increasing carrier responsibility, becoming supervisor in 1977 and entenng the Postal Services Management Associate Program in 1978 Upon completion of the Management Associate Program in 1980, Dewey was promoted to Sectional Center Director of Customer Services in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Prior to becoming Manager, Post Office Operations in 1992, Dewey was Director of Field Operations for the Columbia, South Carolina Division.
