She flees the scene and the government must find her before the bad guys do. Their only hope is to set up a stakeout where they think she might go. Call in a celebrated stakeout team, pose them as a family (dysfunctional at best) and cross your fingers as the comedic action of "Stakeout II" rolls along. in Poor Fair movie. Lecce (Dreyfuss) again battles with a bad guy in a smelly setting. Instead of a raw fish bin, this time he dukes it out in the back of a garbage truck with pounds of leftover spaghetti as well as fish heads. And of course the humor of chumming with the household that one is staking out gives many chuckles as well as trepidations. () A fun Bottom line: thriller but don't overestimate the fun. "Robin Hood: Men in Tights" III Twentieth Century Fox presents a Brooksfilm Production. Directed by Mel Brooks. Starring Cary Elwes, Richard Lewis, Amy Yasbeck. Dave Chapelle, Isaac Hayes, and Tracy Ullman. Rated PG-- 1 3 for sex and violence. "Back then, they really did wear tights," insists Cary Elwes who plays Sir Robin of Lockslcy in this newest Mel Brooks spoof. "Kevin Costner put on a ridiculously long scarf and a set of thongs instead." Rest assured the heroic dress code is strictly enforced on this outing, in which Robin has his sights set on no less than sweeping reforms: restoring folk dancing, introducing a four-da- y work week, and promoting environmentalism. Stakeout 1987 smash "Stakeout" will not be disappointed in its 1993 sequel. "Stakeout II" has the same dialogue and suspense. Richard Dreyfuss and Emilio Estevez again play Seattle detectives Chris Lecce and Bill Reimers who banter and tease one another with the same amiable animosity that we moviegoers like best in buddy movies. But to give this sequel a fresh face, the film makers have added comedian Rosie O'Donnell (Assistant D.A. Gina Garrett) to make a reluctant trio. This new comedic edge is delightful. Temporarily reassigned to help the district attorney's office locate a key witness in a mob trial, the duo relocate to an upscale community where the police have assembled them as a "family" consisting of Lecce as Dad, Reimers as his grown son and the very assertive assistant D.A. Gina Garrett (Rosie O'Donnell, right) as Mom. There's trouble in the best of families, but this dysfunctional clan is at each other's throats as they struggle to fit into their new upper class surroundings without blowing their cover, in Touchstone Pictures' Stakeout II. The food-bom- "Robin Hood: Men in Tights" is promoted as Mel Brooks' best work since "Blazing Saddles." But if you've seen "Life Stinks," you'd know that isn't saying much. The film plays a little like Saturday Night Live, a run of skits. Some of the skits are lame to say the least, some are delightful, and some make you blush. I was particularly entertained whenever anyone broke into song: Maid Marian sings of her true love, Robin sings of his love to Marian, and the Merry Men sing of their love of tights. But Dave Chapelle (who plays Blinken, a spoof on "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" blind Duncan) steals the show. II will be accepted beginning Aug. 13 and will end on Sept. 13. Anyone interested in this event may contact Barbara Sund at P.O. Box 17032, Salt Lake City, Utah 84117. This is a great opportunity to see the latest in techniques, tools, and fabrics as well as improve skills and enjoy the company of other quilters.
