' 'Emotions flowed in tears Emotions flowed in tears and hugs as the 213 members of the Carbon High Class of 1979 said their goodbyes at last Fridays commencement exercises. In the schools colors, blue and white, they paraded into the Carbon High Auditorium to receive diplomas and listen to some last departing words of wisdom. Commencement was held indoors instead of on the football field as planned, because principal Eugene Crocco feared rain. Following the processional graduation music, performed by the Carbon Band, class president Michele Jeanselme gave her welcome address to the graduates sitting behind her. On the edge of tears, she thanked administrators, teachers and classmates for their friendship and guidance and wished well all those she might not see again. - Co Valedictorian Shelly Babcock added to Miss Jeanselme remarks in saying, We are assembled here this evening to be together for one last time, to think of all the experiences we have shared and to prospect our future lives.
