Show Sun Advocate, Price, Utah 8 Wednesday, May 16, 1979 UHP to offer radar check Rsmembet; for speedometer accuracy Those who feel their speedometer is right and the radar gun is wrong are invited to a radar speed check courtesy of the Utah Highway Patrol. Motorist will be able to check the accuracy of their speedometers through the use of the UHP's radar equipment this weekend at two locations in the Carbon Emery county region. The Carbon County speedcheck is scheduled for Sunday May 20 on the new airport county road, ust north of the airport, from between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. -- only you can ' prevent forest fires. The Emery County check will also take place this Sunday, from noon to 2 p.m. at the North Cleveland junction. The free radar check is a part of Governor Scott Matheson's request for Increase enforcement of the 55 mph speed limit. A UNHP spokesman said that speedometers can read innaccurately due to mechanical error or changing tire sizes.
