Show The Salma Sun Thursday February 5, Former Resident Gets Promotion Mrs. Koa Sheppard, a former resident of Redmond, has been named vice president of the Bank of Commerce, Hamtramck, Midi. Mrs. Sheppard began working for Bank of Commerce in 1962, as a teller and later as an assistant manager at a branch in Shelby Township, Mich. In 1969, she was named the first manager of a branch in nearby Avon Township. She was transferred to Center Line, Midi, in 1971 and was assigned the responsibility of dea manager veloping training program. Mrs. Sheppard was named an officer of the bank in December, 1972, and shortly thereafter assumed the added responsibilities of Assistant of the Director of Personnel in January, 1973. She became Diredor of Personnel in December, 197S, was promoted to 7Kjsu guests. 89 E. Mrs. Sheppard is a native of Redmond, and is the sister of Blaine, Wallace, Jewel, and Bessie Poulson. She graduated from North Sevier High School and later began her banking career at the First State Bank of Salina. In the early 1960s, she and her husband, George, (originally from Aurora) moved to Utica, Mich, and later settled in Rochester, Mich, in 1967. They went by way of Coalville to visit Donald and Carma Larsen and family enroutb to the Holy Cross Hospital. While there, they visited Mrs. Paul (Beryl) Ball, who had surgery there. The baby daughter of Donald and Carma was taken to the Primary Childrens Hospital when .she was 10 days old for a blood problem. James Behunin, Mrs. James Wilson, and Stephanie Ball went up and gave blood for the baby. d Mr. and Mrs. Hales went to Salt Lake Tuesday, Jan. 27. Marwood had more surgery at the LD.S. Hospital Thursday. His family reported he was doing well and was to come home Feb. 2. Orvil and Ethel Jensen were in Salt Lake City Sunday, Jan. 25, to Wednesday to keep a medical appointment for Orvil. They went up with Mrs. Brad Sheppard. Fred and Rulene Sheppard were with them in Salt Lake City, and also Farrel and Valene Jensen. Both of them have been ill and were treated at the Gunnison Hospital. They are doing much better. Best wishes go out to them. DUP met Thursday afternoon. Capt. Dora Weller conducted and gave a history, a continuation of the life of Peter Peterson telling that he helped to build a dam at Sigurd. Nora Hansen gave a lesson on old clocks. Mrs. LaMar (Myrle) Whitlock, Salt Lake City, was a visitor at the meeting. She came with her mother, Mrs. Christy Mickelsen. She was here for a few days while her husband was working on the church. Lance Mickelsen had a fun party for his 7th birthday FYiday evening. His mother, Mrs. Myron Adult Classes Readied for Sevier Areas Typing and bookkeeping classes will begin next week, sponsored by the Adult and Education Community office of Sevier School District. According to director Roger B. Brown, typing is set for Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. in the Richfield High School typing room. Helen Pruitt will xe the 'instructor. Bookkeeping Will begin Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. in Room 2 at Richfield High School. Patrick Wilson will be the instructor. Tuition for these classes will be $10 for those not seeking high school credit. Classes continue for 10 weeks. He weighed 5 lbs. 11 oz. He has two brothers, Trent and Cody, and two sisters, Cami Mae and Deidri. Grandparents are DeVere and Dorothy Winget, Austin, and Evan and Marjorie Mickelsen, Redmond. Mrs. Vera Anderson and Marvel and Darlene Anderson and son, Sterling, were in Kearns Sunday for the naming of the baby daughter of Coy and Leisa Anderson. She was named Nicole Ann by her grandfather, Quentin Ottley, Aurora. Mrs. Ottley also attended. They had lunch afterwards at the home of their daughter in Kearns. The baby of Dan and Mitzi Bender of Rose Park also was named Sunday. She was named Kandace. Her grandparents, Jack and Bonnie Anderson, attended the meeting.
