The principal said the neighbor heard glass breaking and went out to investigate after reading of the vandalism incidents in the Aug. 17 issue of the Salina Sun. She also was third in the fat steer competition. She had the record book, and with sisters Georgia and Katie, and cousin top Jodi Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bradley Johnson of livestock judging contest. Aurora, took third place in the4-livestock judging contest. Scott Gurney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Gurney of Lost Creek, was the fourth high individual in the livestock judging contest. Gary Gurney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Gurney of Lost Creek, won second place in the tractor driving contest. In the Horse Show, Jerold Wilson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Wilson of Salina, was first in the barrel race, western pleasure and horse judging (senior division). He also placed second in the senior showmanship at halter and fourth in pole bending. Tammie Harward, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Doug Harward of Aurora, was first in the junior division horse judging. Red Cross Conducts Life Saving And Safety Course An American National Red Cross Lifesaving, Rescue and Water Safety course is currently being taught at the Salina City swimming pool. Enrolled in the class are Krista Glover, Shauna Sim- mons, Belinda Noyes, Elza Marshall, Suzette Beach, Jerold Wilson, and Allen Hansen. RaShelle Camp, Jan Marshall, and Donald Ervine are auditing the course, since they are not of age. This course will run for approximately 21 yours and will teach the participants the basic knowledge of water rescue techniques, survival, safety and lifesaving. This course will also be a prerequisite for lifeguards at the pool. Instructors are Lee Christensen, Debbie Ervine, Karren Glover, Kris Miller, and Steve Camp, who earlier this summer qualified as Water Safety In- - structor (WSI) from Divisional Red Cross Instructor Wilson Pat Kaye. Swimming and lifesaving courses are taught each summer. This past season, over 100 children were enrolled in Red Cross swimming courses at the pool. Rooters To Attend Game A rooters bus for North Sevier High School students will leave for Beaver for the first football game of the season on Friday afternoon, Aug. 25. Game time is 8 p.m. The bus will leave Redmond at 5 p.m., the high school at 5 : 15 p.m., and the Aurora Church at 5:30 p m. New Head Coach Bruce Hoggard will be initiated into Region 8 action in the season opener. Other opening game is Aug 24, at Fish Lake Lodge, and report for teaching duties Friday, Aug 25 School Dress Standards The code of dress for students in Sevier School District is based upon the premise that proper dress and grooming habits parallel a good learning environment. It is important that the school board, teachers, parents, students and all other school personnel take a unified position in promoting standards of dress and grooming which enhance the educational environment, health and general welfare of students. Listed below are specific guides for school personnel, students and parents to follow: 1. All clothing is to be worn in the manner for which it was designed to be worn. a. Unless a shirt or blouse is designed to be worn outside, they will be tucked inside trousers or slacks. b. Girls wearing boys shirts will tuck them inside skirts or pants. 2.
