It is difficult for the teacher to teach students when they are not in the classroom. Rawlinson, who says he is not a professional educator, says he does have a special interest in the schools as a taxpayer. He e is married to the former Finlmson, and the couple has nine children, four of whom attend Delta schools, one at Utah Technical College in Provo, and one at Brigham Young University. He is supervisor of the y laboratory and department at West Millard Hospital and an veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where he spent two as medical years technology training supervisor for the Far Eastern University of the Philippines and six years as an operations and training officer in varied military training programs. Rawlinson is a graduate of BYU with a bachelors degree with majors in medical technology, microbiology and education. He also attended BAC at Cedar City, Ohio State University and Weber State. Reason for closing? - Low water. The Sevier River drainage area did not receive the normal snowfall this past winter resulting in an abnormally low impoundment of water at Yuba Lake. This, coupled with unusual irrigation demands, created a drawdown of water far below the State Division of Parks and Recreation boat ramp, rendering it useless to boaters. Terry Larsen, Park Superintendent at Yuba Lake reports, It is unfortunate to have to close our launching facilities at this time. We are experiencing the finest boating and water-skiin- g conditions, weather-wise- , that we have had for several years. We have about five miles of excellent open water and boating is still permissible if boaters can find other means to launch their boats. The boat ramp at Yuba Lake was extended during the fall of 1977 when water levels were at an unprecedented low. It was calculated that the addition to the ramp would adequately handle unusual drawdowns of water since the 1977 drawdown was the most severe experienced up to that time. However, due to previously limitations, Rawlinson indicates that the school board should concentrate on maintaining quality education while staying within current Utahs Board of Parks and Recreation took action at its July meeting to increase overnight camping fees in Utahs 43 state parks. Charges were increased as follows: From $1 to $2 per night at primitive and overflow sites: dry camps with pit privys. From $2 to $3 at developed sites: water, vault or flush toilets. From $3 to $4 at developed stated reasons, last years water shortage and failure of the lake to fill during this years runoff period, the ramp again sites with utility hookups, sewer, water, andor tricity. The green fees at Wasatch Mountain State Park Golf Course were increased $1, and a season pass from $75 to $125. Persons presently holding camping reservations made prior to this action are being honored at the rate at the time the reservation was confirmed. The fee increase became effective Aug. 1.
