Show Strapd:. Sevier School District Supt. Leland T. Teeples has resigned his post and will take an administrative position in a private school system in Saudi, Arabia. The Board of Education accepted his resignation with regret, at the July 27 meeting. They also went on record ex- pressing appreciation and thanks to him for services rendered during the past five years. Applications for the position will be accepted until Aug. 10. Richard Bell, assistant superintendent, has indicated he will apply for the post. The new facility on South State Street near the Interchange is open for business, and nearly complete. Repair of heavy equipment and diesel trucks, as well as repair and steam cleaning of radiators, is included in the complex. Eight bays for truck repair and four bays for heavy equipment repair are included in the 220 x 80 foot main building, which also houses offices, parts, a waiting room for truckers, and a training room. Another 30 x 50 foot building contains equipment and facilities for repair, cleaning and painting of radiators. The center is the second to be constructed in Utah by Wheeler Machinery, a Salt Lake City based Caterpillar dealer. The other is in Vernal and currently employs 46 persons. Construction on the facility, located on 6'j acres of land on the east side of South State Street, was begun April 5. It was completed in 52 working days, and the staff began moving in July 1, according to Andersen, a veteran of 11 years with Cater pillar. The Salina Serv ice Center is a Caterpillar parts and service dealer, as well as a parts and service dealer for Mack Trucks. Usually, the best way to make identification is to bring a sample of the insect to the office, and if I cannot identify it, we will send it to the entomologist at the University. If you should have an insect problem 'em the vegetation in your garden or around your home, I would recommend that you do the following things. First collect several species of insects and either bring or send them to the Extension Office in Manti. Second, observe the damage and describe it or you could bring or send a sample of you can do to control them. the damage being done to the tree or foliage in. And third, identify the plant or trees the insect is found on. Often times this will give us a good clue in identifying just what the insect is. Sometimes we can recommend a control from the type of damage that is being observed on the plant or tree. However, this is not always the case unless we are really familiar with this type of damage or insect that is causing it. In some cases, we dont have a very good recommendation for the control of certain insects but will suggest several things that Stink Bugs There is a new infestation of a green insect That, has been, found in the area. These are one of the stink bugs, and they attack many plants and vegetation in the fields and around our homes. The damage to the vegetation is caused by the adults sucking sap primarily from pods, buds, blossoms, and seeds. There is no specific recommendations for the control of the stink bug. However, chemicals that can be considered are seven, malathion, or diazinon.
