Show Bring the outside indoors is an idea "Lakeside Review LAKESIDE COMMUNITY C 'iuesday, July 7, 195M of turning used for a family room, kitchen or bedroom with a little imagination on the furnishing. This way, spring will be inside all year long. This is a garden or patio room that anyone can use in their home. The floor starts with vinyl in a slate rock or terra cotta tile pattern. Straw mats can be used if preferred but they slide and need to be straightened continuously. Use lattice panels, wood or vinyl, for wainscoting on the walls. The ceiling can also be covered with them, and fake beans in the comers of the room can be added for more of a patio feeling. The color of the room is anything desired, but white is a good start. A garden arch can be attached to the doorway if the door swings out or has none at all. Lace the arch with ivy or garlands of roses. Add more silk flowers in terra cotta pots or window boxes in the inside of the room. Garden statues can be added if your pocketbook allows. Dont forget the mini fountain andor bath with the flowers. Use outdoor lighting instead of lamps. A fishermans net can hold stuffed animals or simply decorate a wall. Fake windows with mirrors can be used with hanging plants and other outdoor wall treatments. The fake windows can be bought at craft stores or at picture shops. Or take a wooden window frame from a secondhand shop and have a mirror attached to the back at the glass shop. Put up a mural showing an outdoor or garden scene on one of the walls of the room. This can be found at any wallpaper shop. Take an old barbecue grill cart and make it into a flower cart. Take a futon for a couch or bed and other lawn furniture for the other furnishings. A hammock can even be used instead of furniture if attached securely to wall or ceiling beams. A bistro table set is perfect for games or eating in a comer of the room. Wicker is another idea for furniture and can be used for TV, cab Standard-Examine- and can save you money!
