Shipley began his work with disabled children when he and his wife were living in California. They both are professional danc ers and owned a theater there for 25 years. After they retired they volunteered to help with a group in California to teach dance to disabled children. "We loved the work, and when we decided to move to Springvillc, we were afraid to tell the lady who led the group that we were leaving.
