We didnt have a lot of government grants or much money at all, but we just did what we could with what we had, said Hansen. He said that in all his travels around the country and the world, he's yet to find a place like Davis County. Im here because I love cen tennial projects and I love time capsules, he said. The governor challenged the crowd make a vow as they buried the capsule to make Utah an even better place in the next hundred years than the last. Commissioner Carol R. Page said the legacy project also includes a new monument to Captain Daniel Coon Davis, the former resident the county is named for. Page said the old monument to Davis had fallen into disrepair over the years, so an updated version was long overdue. It's now improved and will be there for many many years to honor this man.
