Clearfield rebounded from a disappointing first round defeat and took out their frustrations on an team from Alta. The Falcons started the game like they were less than interested in the remainder of the X' , stretch. V Were still disappointed as a result of not winning that first game, said Hansen. I would be telling you a lie if I said were not disappointed. We feel like were a good enough team to be there, but we played a good team the first day. Larson came out in the second half, however, and literally dominated the game scoring nine, of his 20 points in the quarter. He also cleaned the glass of nearly every rebound out-mann- , could not contend as Clearfield began to pull away hitting clutch free throws down the We just didnt hit our shots, said Clearfield Coach Craig Hansen. Dixon scored 12 points in the first quarter, 33 in the game Most freshwater game fish such as bass, bluegill and crap-pi- e become most active when water temperature reaches the 70 degrees. The colder the water, the slower these fish react. When the water temperature drops below 50, most game fish become hard to catch. Lure presentations in cold water must be extremely slow. Fish will not move very far or very fast in cold water. Slow moving lures such as jig and pork combinations, single spin spinner baits or plastic worms should be fished patiently under such conditions. It takes very little food for a fish to exist during cold water months, and they exert very little energy during this time. - ' i Staff photo by Robert Regan Joel Cook of Clearfield leads the break in second half tion at the U of U Huntsman Center. ac- Davis hopes come to screeching halt : ; The SALT LAKE CITY Davis Darts season came screeching to a halt as they fell to the in an West Jordan Jaguars 49-2- 9 inter-region- al play-of- f game at West High School Friday. - to earn a spot in the State Tournament. No tryouts were held. Anyone who wanted to be on the boys drill team could sign up. The only requirement is that they attend the practices which were held in the early morning and evening hours. Of those who didnt make practice, Miles said, If they didnt show, up, they were off the team; they cut themselves. Thirty guys signed up, 14 survived practice. Terri Granducci, a Royalaire who is the boys team advisor, said the boys had no idea they would be competing til the competition came. She said when the invitation to perform at the regionals was extended, they signed up for it and began work- ing on their routine. Eric Manning, one of the Royal Errors two Drill Misters, said, Guys arent used to doing this stuff. After we kept practicing, it kind of came to us. He said some people take longer than others to learn, but the experience had made these young men really close. At first he didnt know some of the members, but after working with them so many hours, you get to I know them really well, and they talk all the time at school. If the schedule is grueling, theyre not sanctioned by the school, and as such, must pay all their own expenses, why do these 14 young men do it? It appears that what started out as a joke, got serious. Manning said they wanted to show people guys can do it, too. We wanted to be good at it. Miles said he doesnt mind being tied down to the drill team because its a good outlet, different than the usual activities. B 60,000 MILE OQ99 WARRANTY VWP165 f .
