Show 1 2A Lakeside Review, Wednesday, August 1 2, 1 987 Melodrama staged at Heritage The HerBRIGHAM CITY 8 will the Theatre open itage season with the musical Dirty Work At The Crossroads" or Tempted, Tried and True, a Gay Nineties melodrama by Bill Johnson. At the Heritage Theatre, 2505 S. Highway 89 in Perry, the play opened July 31 and continues Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8 p.m. through Aug. 22. . Dirty Work At The Crossroads tells in laughable Victorian style the story of Nellie Lovelace, (Tammera Brown), a naive country girl; of Adam Oakhart, (double cast with Donny Ayotte and Kurt Rigby) the stalwart blacksmiths son; and of Munro Murgatroyd, (Paul Burt) the villain from the big city. Murgatroyd Ifas a wife, Ida Rhinegold, (Debbie Ayotte Robinette) the belle of the New Haven Music Halls, but that does not prevent him from pursuing the innocent Nellie and tearing her from the arms of her dying mother, (Marva Hellstrom) whom he has poisoned. Reservations are recommended but not required and can be made 2 between 9 by calling a.m. and 9 p.m. Individual tickets are $4 for adults; students and senior citizens;are $3 and children are $2. Group rates of 15 or more can be made by special advance arrangements. He directed a 17 week run of this show at the Circat 21 Dinner Playhouse in Illinois. John Chapman, critic for the New York Daily News said Two By Two is a musical to be loved, to be cherished.
