At the first meeting the Loves said they could not get a good financial return on their property if it was not rezoned and told the council they had been ap- - A controversial LAYTON rezone request was denied last week in a most unusual manner by the Layton City Council. Jean Love appeared before the City Council two weeks ago and asked that property located on the northeast corner of Antelope and Fort Lane be rezoned from which would agriculture to M-allow for some types of light manufacturing development. The property is located in the Hill Air Force Base noise and crash potential zone and is one of the properties with an easement purchased by the state which restricts the types of uses that will be allowed. The request was not acted on at that time because several of the councilmen were out of town and a deciding vote would have had to be cast by Kent Smith, a councilman who lives in the area of the proposed rezone. Stevenson again moved that the request be denied and got a second from Councilman Jerry Dale Goede voted against the rezone.
