Davis is one of 22 agencies in the United States involved in the program developed by the Centers for Disease Control. Henrietta Thomas has volunteered to represent South Weber on this committee. Mrs. Thomas has been a registered nurse since 1944. She served as an Army nurse in World War II in the South Pacific. She has done general duty, private nursing and worked on the Womens Center floor of McKay-De- e hospital. She has also served as a volunteer camp nurse for the Girl Scouts and Campfire Girls, and has been a member of the Red Cross home nursing corps. Mrs. Thomas is retired from nursing and lives in South Weber with her husband, retired Lt. Col. Thayne L Thomas. Volunteer members of the committee will attend a series of five training sessions conducted locally by the CDC. Seminars will be held every '.two or three months through , 1987 with sessions focusing on ; gathering local health data, set-- ; ting health promotion priorities, planning interventions and im-- ! plementing those plans. ; These committee members will be asked to form an active part, nership to identify and meet the ' priority needs of the community. The lectures are offered in conjunction with the bicentennial celebrations of the writing of the U.S. Constitution. Kent Day, curator of the urn, said the series of lectures will partially be funded by money from the Davis County Library system but that an additional $100 was needed to help with costs of making the public aware of the lecturers.
