This shipment consists of 1,100 cases and gives an idea of the great amount of skeet and trap activity at the Hill Air Force Base Skeet Range. The range is open on Tuesday evenings from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. for trap shooting, and skeet is shot each Thursday, from 3:30 to 6 p.m. and again on Sunday afternoons from noon to 5 p.m. if no scheduled events conflict. The club invites not only club members to the party but also those that are interested in the shotgun sports. The range is located north of the 1200 zone along and to the east of Hickory Street. It is most easily accessed from off base by entering the West Gate and traveling east to Hickory Street and then north. The range is visible from this road and a sign indicates the turnoff into the driveway. Free refreshments will be provided. The serious shooting season is just starting so the club is asking all of those that have an interest in the shotgun sports to come out for an evening of fun and constructive work. As an indication of the start of an active season, other special range activities for the month of April will be the Skeet League shoot April 20, and then the following Sunday the club officers and better shooters will host a Shotgun Clinic on April 27. This clinic should be of great interest to not only those that are now shooting and want to improve, but will mean even more to those that would like to learn from scratch. Dont worry if you dont have a gun, these guys will loan you one and help you to try out this great fun sport, said club spokesman Harold Hilburn said.
