The Darts, who could have been tied with Bountiful for first place in the region with a win, fall into a three-wa- y tie for second place with Viewmont and Highland. All three have 3 re4-- cords. Ironically, Bountifuls loss of guard Tim Izatt last week to a broken thumb, may have been one of the worst possible occurrence for Davis. They lost a very good player in Izatt, but they replaced him in the lineup with Kinnear, whos 8 and hasnt been starting for them, Davis coach Mike Gardner said. We could match up with the small guard, but we cant matchup with their 8 Kinnear in addition to their 7 center, Dar- in doubt until the last second ticked off the clock Kinnear hurt Davis when he replaced the n Dean. But last time the two were not foul-ridde- in the same line-u- p much. Also last time Davis 0 center Scott Moon went wild for 35 6-- points inside against the slower Brave big men. This time Bountiful shut off the Dart inside game. The Darts must have suspected they were in trouble early as the Bountiful defense kept them out of the middle and Davis outside firepower wasn't as hot as it has been. Bountiful played good defense, and we couldn't get the ball inside to Scott like we have in the past. So we went outside and Casey (Lloyd) and Brent (Meier) didnt hit early, but they have lived by those shots all year and you dont change now, Gardner said. ' 81-6- 7 Gardner said Lloyd. Moon and Taylor sparkled at times, but overall had a outing against the leagues top Mike team. Meanwhile, Bountiful may have not played better this year, Gardner said. I think their defense had something to do with the way !wc played," Gardner added. The Darts were led by Lloyd and Taylor, who had 18 points each. Moon added 12 and Meier. ! nine. wmsmm ISSnSBBB 8S2SX DIM SOLID OAK 6-- ' rsa. U.f . This time around the Falcons were deadlocked in a three-wa- y tie for second and Weber was still tough season for them, but they never let down, and they came in here detirmined to win," Cleaf-icl- d coach Craig Hansen said. The Falcons took a lead after the .first quarter, increased it to seven at the half, to nine at the end of the third quar- looking for win No. 2. Down by three points with just over two minutes left in the ' contest, Weber looked as though they , were getting ready for another up-- ; set. ; But a timeout by Craig Han-;sefollowed by 11-- 3 spurt by Clearfield in the final minutes secured the 1 Falcon win. I Give a lot of credit to Weber and their coaches. Its been a ter, and ballooned it to an lead before Weber mounted ; n, 72-6- six-poi- nt its comeback. In the fourth quarter Weber pulled out all the stops and ran a hustling, pressing defense that took the ball away from the Falcons time after time. At one point, just before Hansen called a time out with two minutes to play, Weber rattled off eight straight points. Our game plan was to keep them out of the middle on defense and to attack the middle on offense, Hansen said. We did a good job of getting the ball to Greg (Boykin) and Eric (West) but we didnt get a chance to control the tempo at the end because Weber was stealing the ball or fouling us immediately, he added. Boykin netted 19 points, while West had 18. Darrel Hicks added 13 points for the Falcons. 10 FT. TABLE & CHAIRS Table extends from 6 foot to 10 foot to sit large families.
