CHis seemingly less than overpowering muscle mass and strength took him to third place e in his catagory in a n arm wrestling competition in last month. ;He was the youngest competitor in the event sponsored by the Ogden Athletic Club, where Jones works out. His family came from Tenessee about nine months ago when his father transfered to Humana Hospital Davis North for employment. Clones said arm wrestling is not jijst a muscle match but a sport that requires training and development of technique to become proficient. Cln addition to his regular work-oji- t, he began training for the event about two months ago. jHe included exercises to state-wid- Og-dfc- winners. Strength in the wrist, forearm, and upper arm is important but so is speed, and using body weight properly, according to Jones. Besides arm wrestling Jones likes to be involved in other ' sports. . Jones is not giving up his training. The Ogden arm wrestling competition is slated now as an annual event and Jones said sure enough, next year I want to make sure I finish a little higher.
