She was also a teacher at Wasatch Elementary School in Clearfield for ' 10 years. She received a bachelors degree in 1956 and a masters degree in 1960, both from Utah State University. She has been active in a day. She was born Dec. 22, 1904, in Richmond, the daughter of Mary Laura Hansen and Olonzo D. Merrill. She married Marion E. Allen in the Logan LDS Temple on May 6, 1925. They have three children: Jacqueline Hyden of Providence, Marion Merrill Allen of Washington Terrace and Susanna Taggart of Clearfield.
