beet beel contract was outlined pd which asks for foi an advance in the price paid by the su sugar ar company for beets to be grown next year the contract will be presented to the farmers of this district at meet lags ings which will be called and it if it Is see acceptable eatable to them then it wilf will be presented to the sugar company with the united backing of tile the farmers that its provisions be accepted by the sugar company and that tile the contract be in force tor for the season reason of 1917 A yrleen ing has been called to convene in tile the commercial club rooms in this city next saturday evening at 7 10 oclo cit to which all the farmers and befit beet growers residing in this and surrounding cities and towns are invited in order that they may hear read and discussed the beet contract which the board of directors of the farmers organization have prepared the meeting will also be asked to take action on the proposition 7 the beet growers of utah county have taken similar action through the bounty farm bureau and the farmers have been asked not to sign contracts to grow beets in 1917 until the matter of obtaining better prices tor for beets can be threshed out and a schedule dulo agreed upon the contract which the farmers ara am asked to stand by reads as follows THIS AGREEMENT made and entered into this day of november A D 1916 by and between hereinafter called the tha company and hereinafter rein after called the grower WIT that that ti the S sugar ar company in consid 6 rat F anft an a ft 0 m abets ent s hereinafter mentioned to and performed performer per formea by b barid the grower promises pro biset and agrees to and with the grower to purchase and does purchase from the grower and the grower agrees to s sell ell and does sell to the sugar company Compan 37 any and all beets that lie he may grow graw in the year 1917 from seed purchased from the sugar company at fifteen cents per pound on acres of land heretofore or hereafter to tie be approved by the agricultural superintendent of the sugar company to ln io delivered by the said grower as hereinafter stated at the following prices and up upon the he following terms and conditions to wit polarizing over 18 per cent and over with SO 80 per cent purity per ton polarizing 17 per cent and over with with SO 0 per cent purity per ton polarizing 16 per cent and over with 80 per cent purity per ton polarizing 15 per cent and over with 80 per cent purity per ton GOO polarizing 18 per cent and over SO 0 per cent purity per ton the grower agrees to prepare his land in first class condition tor plant ing and to cultivate harvest and do de liver ills his beets in a man herto the satish satisfaction action odthe af tile sugar company or its agricultural superintendent to protect the beets from frosland fr frosta and sun during harvest and delivery and to deliver deliver the crops at the time ime and places and in the manner mentioned tor for the prices above stated to be paid as set forth and further agrees to plant fifteen pounds of seed pcr buch amount as the fiel field d superintendent may direct if planting la is done by persons appointed by the Sugar company the grower to pay fifty cents per acre for suca planting ng and the grower further agrees to keep horses cattle and all livestock off such fields of beets until i harvest has been completed otherwise the sugar company reserves the right to reject any beets thus injured the grower further agrees not to irrigate any part of said land after being notified to harvest his beets also to deliver not less than one load per day after receiving said notice delivery of beets shall be made as follows until and including october only as required by the sugar company from october lath to october both inclusive at tile the option of the sugar company such beets only as shall contain not less than fifteen per cent sugar and on oil and after november alst 1st all such beets as shall contain not less all such beets to be ba delivered at tile the expense of tho the grower in a manner and condition satisfactory to the sugar company in the sheds or on an the cars at the factory or on cars at receiving station at the sugar company shall not be bound to accept diseased frozen damaged arid and improperly topped beets and leets which do not otherwise thereof tile Grow ershall have the privilege of selecting at his expense a man ui reliable character satisfactory to company to check the tares and weights of the beets grown under this contract at the receiving stations where such beets may be delivered and to check in ili the tare room laboratory the polarization of his beets tile the sugar company at its pleasure during the growing harvesting and delivery of the beets shall have tile the privilege and shall be accorded the opportunity by the grower ot of sampling the beets in order to ascertain the quality thereof by polarization and analysis this agreement shall bind both tile the grower and his legal representatives and the sugar company and its successors and shall not be transferable without the written consent of each party to the other their successors and Y
