at the Hospital of cancer He was born March 6 1909 in Ogden a son of John Joseph and Emma Elizabeth Knight Furniss He married Margaret LaVell in Bowden 1930 They were later divorced 11 On Feb 1946 he married Alene Allen Stayner in Ogden Their marriage was later in solemnized the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Jan 6 1965 He was reared in Ogden and had tended Ogden City and Burch Creek Schools He was a member of the LDS 50th Ward where he had served as a high priest and a home teacher He had worked for the Royal Baking Company from 1929 to 1942 He then worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad fiom 1942 until 1974 when he retired as a machinist He was a member of the International Association of Machinists No 1929 and a member of the Railroad Old Timers Club wnere he had served as secretary for two years Surviving are his widow of Ogden one son Ronald G Furniss Ogden one daughter Mrs Charles (Bonnie) Garrett Las Vegas Nev four grandchildren and seven Emma Amelia Stuart Cornia 71 of 986 Grandview Drive died Sunday May 11 1986 at the home of her daughter in Clinton of lupus She was born Dec 13 1914 in Woodruff Utah a daughter of James Richard Minnie and Amelia Cox Stuart She married C Wendell Cornia on Sept 19 1941 in the Salt Lake LDS TemHe died ple 11 Jan 1964 She married Lawrence “Lew" Newcomb They were later divorced She had lived in Ogden the past 35 years She graduated from South Rich High School in Randolph Utah and attended Brigham Young University She had worked at Hill Air Force Base as a transportation specialist before retiring She was a member of the 61st LDS Ward She had served a mission in Mission in 1939 and 1940 She had served as Primary president MIA president Relief Society viswas a member of the iting teachet ward choir and was a teacher in many auxiliaries She was active in the Democratic Party Surviving are one son and two Dr Gary C Cornia Orem daughters Utah Mrs E Dee (Suzaine) Phillips Jr Clinton Mrs Rick (Linda May) Noorda Ogden 13
