Show Si scenic highway has recently been completed to the Strawberry River in the Uinta Basin, reported Palmer B. DeLong, Project Manager of the Bureau of Reclamations Central Utah Projects Office. This Strawberry Riyer road was necessitated by the construction of Starvation Dam and Reservoir which flooded out part, of the old road. Entrance to the new road is from Highway 40 about 2 miles west of the new bridge over an arm of Starvation Reservoir. road was built by The 2. Whiting and Haymond Construction Company of Springville, Utah, at a cost of $334,000. Duchesne County recently comnew pleted the hard surfacing of this section of road. Included with the road is a new 128 foot-lobridge spanning Strawberry River. The new road connects to the old road just above the new bridge. The habitat of the reservoir appears to be well adapted for the trout since they are reportedly growing at a rate of about one inch each month. Preliminary tests of the temperature of water in the reservoir indicate that it will be favorable for trout environment.
