Show Give support to soil stewardship Lillian Ia its time, the Pony Express was a marvel of transport. Later on came the Model T Ford and the DC 3. All have been replaced now by the smoother, swifter cars and planes of 1970. In farming, medicine, communications, and in virtually every other area of mans activities, the same transitions have been taking place. Just ahead there has always been something new. Nearly every change has also created a new problem, and the solutions have become progressively more difficult. More and faster automobiles, for example, require more and bigger highways, increase the accident rate, exhaust tons of fumes into the air, and finally create a junk disposal headache. The evolution in communications that added televison and radio to magazines and newspapers is charged with altering the character of family life throughout the nation not always for the better. The evidence of history assures us that the next decade will be different from this one. It will bring additional knowledge, more advanced technology, new products, new variations in our social and economic systems, and a whole host of new challenge . There is a clear prospect, too, that the state of our resources will be different, perhaps sharply so, bringing new stewardship issues and opportunities. It is almost elementary to anticipate that we will have more people, highways, and housing. The requirements for food, wood and recreation will increase substantially. Our systems for managing water, transportation and solid waste disposal are likely to be altered markedly. And these are just a few of the more evident changes that appear to lie ahead. Many others including some which cannot now be foreseen, must also be regarded as probable. Moreover, we know that every change will not occur in every place at the same time and in the same ways. The pattern will vary from community to community in accordance with many factors, including location, available resources and the attitude of the people there. Under the circumstances it would be prudent, since change is perpetual, to prepare for it more deliberately. Every community and conservation district has the capability or can obtain it, to look ahead, estimate and anticipate with reasonable accuracy what some of the major changes affecting its resources are likely to be. Then, starting with full knowledge of the resources at hand and building on NOTICE TO CREDITORS Estate of STEVEN WORTH deceased ASH- Dave McMullin ATTORNEY Jane Ashworth & Guardianship NOTICE TO WATER USERS The following application has been filed with the State Engineer to change water in Utah County, State of Utah, throughout the entire year unless otherwise designated.
