Show 2-- B THE PAYSON Employees meet CHRONICLE Thursday, April 2, 1970 Jehovah's Witnesses The annual employees meeting for the March 12 at Payson Hospital was held 13 at March 1:30 p.m. and repeated 3:30 p.m. so that all might attend inasmuch as there are the three shits per day. The meeting was conducted by Ronald Plan Convention The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of Brooklyn, New York, announced today that the semi-annu- al circuit convention of Jehovahs Witnesses in Utah Circuit No. 1 will be held in Tooele, Utah, this spring. Roy Hunick, presiding minister of the Spanish Fork congregation, stated that this three-da- y Bible educational program is scheduled for April 24 to 26, and that all sessions will be held in the Tooele High School Auditorium, 240 West 1st South, Tooele, Utah. Commenting about the convention site, Mr. Hunick said, "This will be the second convention in eight years to be held in Tooele, Utah. We are looking forward to being present there for the abundant spiritual food that will be served by means of Bible talks, symposiums and practical demonstrations as well as the opportunity it presents to visit many of the local householders and share with them an upbuilding thought from Gods Word, the Bible. Arrangements have been made for baptism and ordination of new ministers Saturday afternoon; and on Sunday afternoon, April 26, at 2 p.m. a public discourse will be given by a speical traveling representative from Brooklyn, New York, world headquarters of the Watch-towSociety. The subject for discussion will be, Withstanding the Pressures of Our Day. Convention officials estimate that well over 800 ministers from Salt Lake City to Richfield in Utah, and Ely and Elko, in Nevada, will be in attendance for this spiritual feast of Bible instruction. Center picture: On March 26, Mrs. Thora Ross, Nurse's Aid, received a cash award of five dollars from Mrs. Betty Cook, R.N. who is Director of Nurs Hospital Happenings Every two months recognition of thanks, approval, and praise is given to some of our choice hospital employees who share their excellent ideas for better professional care. Some nine employees were awarded gift certificates for their contribution of good ideas to the hospital. Many of these ideas will be implemented to make the hospital an ever better place for those who come here to receive care. Another suggestion was that a Bible and Book of Mormon be placed in each patient station as well as in waiting areas; that a portable TV be made available in the ECF rooms for patients unable to get up; that a shelf or some other item be put in the patient room Jo hold flowers and other items. There was also a suggestion that there be a community information program educating people as to how to contact, who the public is to contact regarding ambulance service and inform the public somewhat as to the procedure of contacting their LPN: Alice Reynolds, Dietary. Finally, Thora Ross, Nurses Aide, received a $5.00 award for the Best Idea: which was voted upon by the Supervisory Council in their meeting. The following suggestion by Mrs. Ross was the winner: I suggest to put a patient bar helper in front of the toilet in the bathrooms. The patient could then help himself up off the toilet. Some of the other suggestions included: a pediatric routine admission list to detail some specific treatments and care for pediatric patients; suggestion of a device on patient doors for the names to be attached; another idea was that patients should be asked if they smoke or object to smoking in their room and attempt strongly to place patients accordingly, Recognition Mr. Nielsen introduced the subject, What has our team done to grow and we going progress in the past; where are in the future? It was also suggested that drapes be placed on the maternity ward patient room windows; that metal heat control lid covers be placed on vegetable dishes; finally, that a plastic color tab index system be used in the Kardex at the Nurses Station to quickly bring to the attention of the nurse whether the patient is in isolation, NPO, or going to surgery. These are just a few of the excellent ideas that the choice professional staff at Payson Hospital are contributing to the interest of overall excellence in patient care.
