Sisters and brother of the new baby are Joanie, Christy, Kathy and Robert. Proud grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Rollan Masterson of Orem, Mr. Herman Janssen of Murray and Mrs. Harry Meeker of Las Vegas, Nevada. Miss: Mary Materson of Orem, a sister of Mrs. Janssen has been assisting in the home for the past week. She returned home on Friday. ' hirs. The new baby has three brothers and one sister Kevin, David, Ricky and Wendy Jackson, Maternal grandmother is Mrs. Florence Gee of Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Gale and daughter have moved to Orem where they wiU make their new home. They have resided in West Mountain for the past three years. Mrs. Ethel Hirst and Mr. Charley Hirst attended a dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hirst of Salt Lake in honor of Orville Gerow who has recently returned from Viet Nam. Other guests present were Mr. and Mrs. Donald Gerow and son Bill and daughter Julie of Provo; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Boel and son Kenneth of Provo; Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Beebee of Ogden; and Jessie and Jean and Gary Stevens. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kenison received word that their son Sp4 Alan Kenison is a patient at the Cam Rahm Bay, Viet Nam hospital where he is confined with flue. Alan is attached to the 32nd Medical Depot. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Peterson (Mary Lynn Kenison) arrived Saturday, Jan. 17 from Mesa, Arizona at the home of her parents Albert and Anna Kenison. The Petersons arrived due to the death of Mary Lynns grandmother, Mrs. Mary Kenison. They returned home Jan. 20. Cindy Farr, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Farr celebrated her twelth birthday by.peing hostess to, a plumper party for a group of girl friends. An early morning breakfast was enjoyed. 3 CHRONICLE Thursday, January 29, 1970 Civil Funeral services for Ira Milton Montague, 78, Goshen, were held Tuesday, Jan. 27, 1970, at 2 p.m. in the Goshen Ward Chapel. Mr. Montague died Friday Jan. 23, 1970, in the Payson City Hospital of a lingering illness. Mr. Montague was born Aug. 23, 1891, in Payson, a son of John M. and Nettie May Patterson Montague. He married Verna Pennington. She later died. He married Mildred Bronson on July 24, 1935 in Santaquin and the marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He was a retired carpenter and trapper. Survivors include his widow, Goshen; sons and daughters, Ray Montague, Elsinore, Sevier County; Lynn Montague, Cle-t- a, Ariz.; Don Montague, Payson; Floyd Montague, Kaysville; John Montague, Spanish Fork; Mrs. Inez Stork, Price;. Joyce Willoughby, Detroit, Mich.; Jeanne' Sandy; Peggy Albaugh, Goshen; Lorna Warner, Martinville, Va.; Hazel Betts, Provo; 44 grandchildren; four two a brother and a sister, Vivian Montague, Payson, and Mae Mon- tague, Fillmore. Center, Santaquin, mayor of Santaquin, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Payson City Hospital Friday, Jan. 23, 1970, after suffering a heart attack earlier the same evening. Mr. Kester became ill Friday evening while attending a Santaquin City Council meeting. He was taken to his home by a nephew and suffered a heart attack later that evening. Mayor Kester had served as mayor of Santaquin since Jan. 5, when he was sworn into office by Mrs. Idonna Cook, Santaquin City Recorder, He had officiated at three council meetings before his death. He was born Jan. 25, 1906, in West Jordan, a son of Oliver W. and Elizabeth Herbert Kester. He married Grace Shepherd on April 1, 1936, in Provo. Mr. Kester had served two four-yeterms as a member of the Nebo School Board, serving as president part of this time. He was a past president of the Santaquin Lions Club and served as a deputy district Governor and zone chairman in this organization. He had been a past master of the Tintic Lodge, No. 9, F & AM in Eureka. He had served as Chapter Dad of the Order of Demolay, A1 Sirat Chapter, for the past 16 years. He was a past high priest, Provo Chapter No. 4, Royal Arch Masons, and past Illustrious Master, Provo Coun-c- il No. 2 of Royal and Select Masters. He has been past commander of Ivanho No. 5 Knights Templar; a member of Utah Priory No. 47, Knights of the York Cross of Honor and also a member of the Legion of Honor, Order of De Molay. He was a member of the Cross of Honor of the Order of DeMolay. Mr. Kester was operating a calcite plant in Santaquin at the time of his death. Surving are his widow of Santaquin; four sons and three daughters, Clement A. Kester, Joe Kester, Kevin Kester, and Jenna Kester, all of Santaquin; Mrs. A. P. (JessieL.) Divecka, Falls Church, Va.; and Mrs. Louis (Louise M.) Johnson and Arland L. Kester, both of Salt Lake City; his mother, Santaquin; 10 grandchildren and two brothers and sisters, Everett Kester, Santaquin; Clement Kester, Fres- ar We wish to thank all our many friends, neighbors, and loved ones for the kindness shown us during the sudden death of our son and brother. Lafferty Sunday night after meeting for their fireside. He was born Feb. 14, 1894, in Spring -ville, a son of Jabez and Mary Ruth Taylor. He married Eleanor May Martell on April 16,1919 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died July 17, 1965. Mr. Taylor married Ida M. Brown on Feb. 14, 1966, in Provo. He received his education inSpringville City Schools and was a veteran of World War I, serving from October of 1917 to January of 1919. He spent part of this time in France. For 35 years he was employed at the Ironton Steel Plant in the blast furnace department, and also owned and operated a farm in the Spanish Fork area. Active in the LDS Church he was a high priest at the time of his death. He had served as secretary of his high priests quorum and was a member of the Old Folks Comittee for many years. Mr. Taylor was a member of the American Legion, Post No. 68 of Spanish Fork. Surviving are his widow of Spanish Fork; three sons and three daughters, Darwin Martell Taylor, Bakersfield, Calif.; Ivan Jay Taylor, Payson; Paul M. Taylor, Oakland, Calif.; Mrs. Ronald (Mary) Booth, Covina, Calif.; Mrs. Robert (Wanda) Holley, Yuba City, Calif.; and Mrs. Jack (Joyce) Dean, Richfield; 15 grandchildren and one brother, Frank Taylor, Springville. no, Calif.; Bessie Miller, Portland, Ore.; Mrs. Edna Overman, Salt Lake City and Mrs. Lola Burraston, Delta. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Santaquin-Tinti- c LDS Stake Center, with Worshipful Master W.R, Courtney, F&AM, officiating. Burial was in the Santaquin City Cemetery.
