Garrett, district supervisor, addressed a record breaking throng of 1,214 persons on the third and final day of the circuit convention of Jehovahs Witnesses of Utah Circuit No. 1. In his climax Bible discourse entitled True Worship Versus the False which was delivered in the Price Civic Auditorium, Mr. Garrett stated, The modern religious spirit is to be liberal, telling others to worship any way they want. People maintain that only a fanatical egotist would claim his way of worship is right and others are wrong. These same people maintain that there are true and false types of government but not of religion. Hence their reasoning is inconsistent. 'Centuries ago in the days of Elijah, Mr. Garrett continued, The true God looked with favor upon the worship of Elijah and the Israelites but directed the slaughter of the prophets of the god Baal. He showed that true and false worship did exist then, and that it was a life or death issue. Today we face the same issue of what we will do in the matter of worship. Will we uphold true worship and oppose the false? Once again it is a life or death issue. Roy Hunick, presiding minister of the Spanish Fork congregation, pointed out that all in attendance were happy to receive Bible counsel and instructions that will help the local Witnesses to continue to be the right kind of ministers as they share waters of Bible truths. short illness.
