The season will begin November 23 and run through December 1 and the exact boundary will be explained to hunters at the elk checking station at the Jenkins Ranch north of Lapoint on the Mosby Mountain road. Hunters who are successful in drawing out for this hunt will be notified by mail and may pick up and pay for their permits at this checking station. Special Hunt Areas To Open Saturday Elk hunters again head into Heaston units. A majority of the hunters will be on the Fish Lake for the November 16 through 24 season. The Heaston unit will also have the same hunting dates. Only 15 bull permits were authorized for the Heaston unit this year while 200 bull permits and 25 either sex permits were set for the Fish Lake hunt. Barring any heavy last minute storms conditions on both areas should be favorable for the elk hunters access. A final tally on success for the 1968 elk hunts in Utah will be available after all hunters have returned their permit cards to the Division of Fish and Game. About 25 of the better swimmers work out five days a week from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. and the rest are divided into four groups that swim three times a week. Two groups work particularly on strokes and two groups mostly do laps and work on conditioning. Coach Bestor feels that team be instilled in these children with less emphasis on earning of awards or beating someone for the sake of beating them or of just getting by or of quitting when the going gets tough. He hopes to teach these children the value of participating, of learning of meeting friends, of doing their best, of growing healthy and strong, of contributing to a team. spirit should I |
