Show SPRING GAD-A-BOUT- lenora S Midoline Dixon Janna Daniels, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Daniels, is spending many of her weekends in jaunts to various universities in pursuit of her duties as a national officer of the SPURS, an affiliate of University of Utah. Janna is a Junior at the university and national vice president of the Spurs, in charge of public relations. She has attended conventions of the service unit held at universities in Emporia, Kansas, Laramie, Wyo., and Spokane, Wash., and has made trips to other areas. Among those who attended the annual Chis Tours party held in Salt Lake City last week were Erma Fech, Helen Hansen, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Tervort and Mary Jeppson, all of Payson, plus Mrs. Jeppsons daughter, Joyce Jeppson, a teacher in the public schools at Roy. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Stevens spent last week boating on Lake Powell in the Page, Ariz., area. They were joined for a few days by Mr. and Mrs. Roy Rodgers. Mr. Q.M. Burdick entertained her card club Thursday evening at her home. Mrs. Page Perry, Payson; and Mrs. HaroldSmith, Spanish Fork, were guests in addition to members. Mr. and Mrs. Q.M. Burdick visited recently with their son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Phone 465-239- 5 Burdick and family at Kanab. The four took several trips of interest including a tour of a movie site at Pyrea, a pioneer town near Page, Ariz., and also to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Burdick and Gloria, of Kanab, daughter, spent the weekend in Payson with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Q.M. Burdick. On Friday evening all were dinner guests at an early Thanksgiving event given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Argyle at Provo. Mrs. Argyle, former Barbara Burdick, is a daughter of the Bob Burdicks. After dinner callers were Con Nybo, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Nybo, Salem; and Mr. and Mrs. Dean Ashby of Payson. Mrs. Leona Wright is visiting in California with her son and wife, Mr. and Mrs, Thomas Wright, at LaMirada, and her daughter, Salley, and husband, Floyd R. Jensen, at West Minister. Her son, Dan, a student at Brigham Young University, expects to join the family for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Dinner and a show in Provo, were enjoyed Friday evening by a group of friends as follows: Phillis Madson, Carol Dixon, Afton Rosenbaum, all Payson; Arlene Mann of Orem and Wil-d- a Christensen. Maxine Curtis McMurdie of Logan spent Saturday in Payson with her mother, Mrs. Heber Curtis, while her husband, Bill McMurdie, attended the BYU -Utah State University football game at Provo. They were accompanied by their children. Dorothy McFadden has returned to her home after spending a couple of weeks at Payson City Hospital due to a heart condition. Her husband, Sam, is manager of Huish Theater in Payson. VERL D. Rep. STONE says THANKS for YOUR Vote Bill Wilde, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roe N. Wilde of Payson, writes home from Mexico City, where he is in his 18th month as an LDS missionary, that a new missionary assigned to the house where he and his companion live is none other than his old friend and school chum, of Payson. Tommy Tervort Tommy a son of Mr, and Mrs. Glen Tervort of Payson, has been in the mission field for about two months. Bill states that he is the new district lead- er. They visited together as they quilted. When Mrs. Ulala Butler left her sisters home after quilting she was joined by the members of her family, her husband, Noal Butler, and their children, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Olson and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Butler from Santaquin, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Stewart, Payson and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Boswell, American Fork at a local cafe at Provo where they all enjoyed a birthday dinner together in honor of their daughter, Mrs. Jack(Nola Rae) Olson. Miss Lenora Huish was very happily surprised Monday afternoon when friends, Mr. and Mrs. Ray (Stella) Gardner, from American Fork called in for a visit with her and her brother, Ray Huish. They were very good friends and chummed together during their college days at BYU before the Gardners were married. She had not seen them for several years. Mrs. Gardner is the sister of Lyman Gerber, who with his wife and family were Spring last Saturday, Nov. 9. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Flint McClellan recently were Mr. and Mrs. Ross Montague and five children, and also their friend, Mrs. Sherm Pollock, and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Henline, all of Magna. Coming on two separate days, they spent the day and enjoyed dinner with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. McClellan. Lenore Jones and Betty Llewellyn attended the Womens Legislative Council Thursday. The meeting was on the topic of drugs and children from 13 to 17 years of age were presented on a panel. The youngsters were from the Utah State Hospital. A joint birthday party honor- ing Reid F. Curtis and his sister, Geraldine C. Burton was given Sunday at the home of Mrs. Burton and her husband, Larry H. Burton. A lovely dinner was served to Mr. and Mrs. Reid F. Curtis, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Wride, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald J. Stoker and daughter, Karalee; Mrs. Frank Curtis, Karen Burton, Steven Hancock, Curtis and Cindy Burton. A buffet dinner was arranged recently at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald J. Stoker (Sharon Curtis) in Spanish Fork, in honor of their baby daughter, Karalee, who was blessed in church services held that day. The female descedents of the grandmother, Mrs. Mable Bricker have organized themselves into a club known as the Cousins Club. They meet regularly on the first Monday night of each month, usually meeting in Salt Lake City. At Provo the group chatted with each other while sewing or knitting together, enjoying the family association.
