Coombs, 66, Fresno Calif., a former resident of Payson, died Friday, Nov. 1, 1968, at a Fresno hospital following a brief illness. He was born Feb. 1, 1902, in Payson, a son of Frank Albert and Laura Ann Finlay-so- n Coombs. He married Lyle Jones on June 6, 1923, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. A graduate of Payson High School in 1921, Mr. Coombs, also received a degree from the University of Utah in 1925, as an electrical engineer. For a number of years he had been a sales representative for CBS and NBC in San Francisco. In 1941 he became vice president and manager of radio station KARM in Fresno, Calif., where he worked for many years. Prior to his retirement in 1957, Mr. Coombs was an installer of radio stations nationwide. He was president of the Rotary Club in Fresno and also headed the civil defense 'Con-alrafor the entire state of California for a time. Survivors include his widow of Fresno; one son, Clyde F. Coombs, Jr., Los Altos, Calif,; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Mary Lou) Harline, San Jose, Calif.; and Mrs. Norman (Jean-niSullivan, Kaysville; 15 grandchildren; his mother of Santaquin and one brother and d" e) two sisters, Ralph Coombs, Payson; Mrs. Ernest (Hattie) Ahlin, Santaquin, and Mrs. Le Roy (Rhea) Hone, Orem. Funeral services were held in Fresno, Calif., Saturday. Additional funeral services were held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Keith Jolley Mortuary in Payson, Bishop Blaine Montague, Payson Fifth LDS Ward, officiated. Burial was in the Payson City Cemetery. Wanda M. Webb Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, October 30, 1968 for Wanda Montague Webb. President Harold Harmer conducted the service in the Keith Jolley Mortuary. Prelude and postlude music was played by Marilyn Ellsworth. Tom C. Sorensen offered the invocation and Lylia Carlisle and Kenna Holm sang a duet accompanied by Arlene Provstgaard. Jerelyn Sorensen gave a tribute and a quartet, Erma Measom, Gwen Harmer, Carma Whitelock and Gloria Barnett sang, 'Hold Thou My Hand. Speaker was Vernile Montague. After the quartet sang, Look Up To Him, the benediction was pronounced by Kenneth J. Tanner. Burial was in the Payson City Cemetery where the grave was dedicated by Byron Mendenhall Pallbearers were Cleon Powell, Ross Montague, Ronald Oram, Raymond Montague, Mark Montague and Charles V. Hayes. Carl W. Wymore Carl MOUNTAIN Wymore, 73, died Monday evening at the Payson City Hospital after a lingering W. illness. Funeral services will be under the direction of Keith Jolley Mortuary. Carma Tanner Mrs. Carma Tanner, 31, wife of Don Tanner died during surgery Monday at Payson City Hospital. Funeral services will be under the direction of Keith Jolley Mortuary. Phone 754-348- 2 The Neighborhood Club met at the home of Mrs, Ada Olson Thursday afternoon. A hot luncheon, sewing and social chat were enjoyed by the eight members who were present. Sgt. and Mrs. Gordon (Kathleen) Daley and baby daughter flew from New Jersey Oct. 23 to visit with Mrs. Daleys parents Mr. and Mrs. Lional Wall Jr. They came for the pheasant hunt and also to have their little baby daughter blessed. The baby was blessed Sunday by her grandfather Lional Wall Jr. Sunday in Sacrament Services. The baby was given the name of De Nise. They will leave November 12 for New Jersey where Mr. Daley is stationed in the Air Force. Mrs. Olive Smith was taken to the Payson Hospital early Friday morning with a sudden illness. Mrs. Albert Hudson spent Wednesday at the home of her mother in Provo. Her mother Mrs. Maude Miller had just been released from the hospital after a weeks stay with an illness. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Childs were in Spanish Fork Sunday for dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank C. Argyle. Also present were Mr. and Mrs. Steve Argyle and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Bountiful; Dave Argyle and family of Provo. Camp Summitt DUP held their first meeting of the season at the home of Mrs. Ida Green-halg- h Thursday afternoon. There were 12 members present to enjoy the program which consisted of : invocation by Mrs. Estella Peterson; pledge to the flags, Irean Peterson, singing led by Ida Greenhalgh and accompanied by organist Edna Steele; business matters discussed by Captain Della Hudson; History by Erma Cloward and the lesson on Autobiographies given by Mrs. Estella Peterson. Hostesses were Mrs. Ida Greenhalgh and Mrs. Estella Peterson. Mr. and Mrs. JH Kay were in Richfield Sunday where they went to see Mrs. Kays grandson blessed. The baby is a son of Terry and Karen Peterson Fredrickson and the baby was given the name of Bret Leonial Dinner was held for the group afterward at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Eldred Peterson in Richfield. Mr. Raymond LeBaron of Rockport, Maine has been visiting with friends and relatives in Santaquin, Payson, Provo and Salt Lake. While here a family was held at Curts Cafe Wednesday. Present were: Mrs. Mary A. Morrill, Orem; Mr. and Mrs. George LeBaron Ephraim; Mr. and Mrs. David LeBaron, Provo; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hendrickson and Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Finch of Pay-so- n and Mrs. Olive Greenhalgh and Mr. and Mrs. Roger Miles of Santaquin. Mr. and Mrs. Michael Olson of Payson had their baby boy blessed Sunday in Santaquin 1st Ward fast meeting. Mr. McBeth passed away Wednesday shortly after being admitted to the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake. The following sons and daughters and their families have been at the McBeth home to assist their mother; Max B., McBeth and Dennis McBeth of Tooele; Mrs. Wayne (Geraldine) Smith of Fullerton, California and Ray McBeth of Lander, Wyoming. Fifteen grandchildren mourn the death of their grandfather. Mrs. McBeth will now make her home in Tooele with her sons and families. We shall truly miss this family. Spook lane, witches, fortune tellers and everything really scary was at the West Ward cultural hall Tuesday evening at MIA. In order to be admitted you had to wear a costume and as a result every kind of costume could be seen. A large attendance of young and old enjoyed the Halloween together. Wednesday afternoon the Primary children held their annual Halloween party and enjoyed games and refreshments. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sperry attended Open House in Spanish Fork recently in honor of Mrs. Sperrys mother, Lavina Croff, on her eighty second birthday. It was held at the home of her daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Jex. During the afternoon and evening many friends and relatives called to extend greetings.
