Johnson, newly appointed curriculum specialist at UTC. and The courses in mathematics, science, and communications are designed to provide the student with sufficient knowledge of these subjects in the shortest possible time, said Johnson, so that he will be fairly competent using this knowledge in his occupational field of study. The program is designed for students who need and desire additional background study in certain areas. For example, a student who is deficient in mathematics may study in a pretech class until he has built up the necessary skills needed for the program of his choice. Such courses will be offered in biology, chemistry, communications, human relations, mathematics, physics, and study skills. The design of the courses will be such that the student will proceed through the necessary units of study at his own speed. Testing is available for persons wanting to know of their own areas of weakness in subject areas. Persons interested in this program need to contact the dean of students office at Utah Technical College in Provo.
