Fork Diamond Fork Riding Club has announced tryouts for the selection of the Rodeo Queen and attendants for the Spanish Fiesta Days Rodeo of 1968. At 8:00 p.m. on Friday June 7th selection of the celebration royalty will take place at the city rodeo grounds. Any girl who is 16 years of age or older is eligible to compete in the contest. The only restriction to a girl being selected as queen is that if she has been chosen as queen for a similar city celebration in the area, she would not be eligible to be selected as queen of the Fiesta Days Rodeo. Contestants will be judged on horsemanship, personal grooming and personality. Anyone desiring further information concerning the contest may contact Bishop Merrill Bingham. The girls worked on their hand articles and on their service project which is marking items for elderly ladies to paint. At their first meeting the following officers were chosen. Doris Kennison, president; Denise DeGraw, vice president Betty Ann Haskell, secretary; Irene Bowen, reporter; Ida F r a n c o m, patriotic safety chairman; Karen Haskell, treasurer; and Sandra Smith song leader. Kent Worthington, Blake Sudweeks and Mark Sudweeks ushered. Garden receptionists were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hillman of Las Vegas, Nev.; Mr. and Mrs. Don Lee Worthington of San Diego, Calif. Guests were received in the natural setting of the lovely Sudweeks garden, where a small tree was alight with tiny pink bulbs and pink spotlights played on interesting areas of the garden. A tiered wedding cake, decorated in yellow and white, was displayed on a round wrought iron table. Refreshments were served from a buffet centered with a floral arrangement. After completing his ' ' military service, they plan to continue their education at the Utah State University in Logan; ' Democratic District Elects Delegates Ann Banks Appointed To State Board Ann H. Banks, Spanish Fork Beautician, has been appointed by Governor Rampton to the State Board of Cosmetology. The State Board of Cosmetology is made up of five cosmetologists in the state who examine all applicants for a state license in cosmetology. Examinations are given three times a year and applicants are examined on theory and practical work. The board also acts on other business connected with the profession such as inspection of schools and other investigations. To qualify for this position Mrs. Banks was recommended to the Governor by the Utah . Mrs. Virginia E. Roberts and Dan Christensen will leave for Logan June 9th. Mrs. Roberts will attend a school lunch workshop under the direction of Dr. Mildred Hunter. The 2 week course will be management, personnel basic functions for management efficient work methods and employee motivation in relation to the school food services. To receive their guests, the lovely bride wore a floor-leng- th gown of crystalline styled on empire lines. Tiny seed pearls accented thebodice and neckline. The long sleeves and train were detailed with lovely rose lace appliques. A white velvet rose, also outlined with seed pearls held her shoulder-length veil. Her bouqujt was of apricot roses with ivy and olive green streamers. The matron of honor was Barbara Jorgensen, sister of More Pink Ladies are needed at Payson City Hospital, according to Nadine Brown, president. The Pink Ladies Auxiliary do volunteer work at the hospital helping in various ways from three to four hours a week. Anyone who is interested is asked to submit an application at the hospital.
