Five units from the available . nine were present at camporee activities. Units camped at Maple Dell For Sale Misc. treads, Scout Camp Friday evening. Three units gave three hours NOTICE of service to the council Camp in preparing for the summer season. The other two units gave three hours service in the Ponderosa Pine Forest trimmingbranches from the taller trees to let mdre sunlight into the smaller trees and also to give the larger trees more chance to grow and create knot-frtimber. Council executive. Douglas Larsen supervised the work at Maple Dell and Bryan Nielson, forest ranger, supervised the work at the pine forest. After the work projects were completed all units participated ee Marie Peterson Kay Marie Peterson Kay, 68, 75 S. 1st W., Santaquin, died at the Payson City Hospital in Payson Wednesday of natural causes. She was born June 5, 1899 in Springville, a daughter of Peter A. and Mary Peterson. She married John H. (Cy) Kay, March 12, 1921 in Nephi. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He died Oct. 2, 1954. Mrs. Kay was educated in the Santaquin schools. She was an Active member of the LDS Church, serving in the MIA and Relief Society. " She was active in the Santaquin Civic Club, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. m She was a member of the Santaquin Volunteer Fireman Auxiliary. r,,She was a long time employee of the Dixon Taylor Russel Company. Survivors include one son, Kay, Santaquin; four eight greatgrandchildren; one brother and two sisters, Reuben J. Peterson and Mrs. Arthur (Amber) Wick-ma- n, both of Santaquin, and Mrs. Peter (Rachel) Labori, Salt i.H. "Lake City, and two half-siste- J at the family home was by Dick Peery. Contests included signalling, archery, rifle shoot, fire building, chariot race (lashings) and pyramid building with all boys participating. Troops 93 and 97 were declared winners. These two units were led by Leo Chambers and Ricky Bryan of troop 93; Frank Griffith and Shock Neilson of Spring Lake. Troop 198 won second place under direction of Grant Carlisle; Troop 199 won third place. Troop 91, under Dennis Dixon, won fourth place. Troop 93 was chosen as the best campers and named out standing in having the best and most orderly camp. Scoutmasters Leo Chambers and Shock Nielson conducted the archery and rifle shoot. Nebo District BoyScoutsplan to go back into the pine forest on June 4th and try to complete the first phase of the conservation project. Units will meet at Walker Flat in Payson Canyon at 2:30 p.m. and work for about three hours. For further information scouts should contact Bill Ashworth, project chairman.
