Mr. and Mrs. Gould Dixon have returned from a 15 day guided tour of Old Mexico, Acapulco, Taxco and Mexico; City were places of special interest. Mrs. Lois Bates, widow of the late Lewis Bates, one-tiprincipal of Payson High School, spent a week in Payson recently, a guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Daniels. Mrs. Bates, who now resides in tte, Calif, and Mrs. LeGrand Curtis of Payson announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Rosalie, to Creig Jensen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oral Jensen Mr. of Spanish Fork. Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Jones of Payson and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Woodward of Fallbroo, Calif., accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert White on a fishing trip to Strawberry and Flaming Gorge recently. The Woodwards are cousins of the Whites. They are members of the Fallbrook LDS ward, where Jack Jones, son of i Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Jones is bishop. Mrs. Earl Page entertained members of Tres Joli club at her home Thursday evening. Guests in addition to members were Mrs. Jean Hendrickson of Provo; Mrs. George F. Wilson and Mrs. Clyde McMnaan of woodworking. Emphasis is given to the development and use of industrial materials which the participants may use toimprovethe quality of instruction in their teaching assignments. Dr. Jack A. Spencer, Salt Lake City, formerly of Payson, entertained a group of friends in an annual overnight outing at the Spencer home on the Weber River. Going from Payson were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Page, Mr. and Mrs. Glade Cowan, Mrs. Darrel Brown, and Mr. and Mrs. John Daniels. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hansen of Payson and their daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Kerry Duncan and baby of Spanish Fork have returned from a trip to Seattle, Washington where they were guests at the home of their son, Lee Hansen and family. They all continued the trip to fish and camp at Piute Lake in Canada. At Williams Lake in Canada they visited with Gail Searle, an LDS missionary and son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Searle of Payson. During their stay in Seattle the Hansen family was entertained at a hamburger fry at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Peery. Mr. Peery is a son of Margaret Peery of Payson. The J. D. Christensens cently enjoyed visits from some of their grandchildren. Daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Gale (Shar-i- l) Holt from Roosevelt, who stayed in Payson a week were Sharon, 10; andShauna, 6. Later daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Christensen, Kim, 10; Ron 8; and Jina, 7, of Sacramento, Calif., visited at the Christensen home for a week. In each case, parents of the youngsters brought them to Payson and then returned to pick them up for the journey home. Friends and relatives are invited tocallbetween2and6p.m. Mr. and Mrs. Blain were married July 11, 1917, in the Manti temple. Both have given many years of service to the LDS church in various locations where they have lived, including Payson, where they have made their home the past 30 years. Mr. Blain is a native of Spring Gty, a son of John S. and Sarah E. Zabriskie Blain.
