Utah Pioneers, met Thursday afternoon at the home of Susan Ashby, with Gloria Barnett, captain, presiding. A history of Seth Allerton, great - grandfather of Arlene Provstgaard, was read by Mrs. Ashby, and the lesson, the Chinese in Western America, was given by Madoline Dixon. After a discussion led by Mrs. Barnett on preservation of Nebo Tabernacle, members voted unanimously to give backing to such a project. Mrs. Barnett noted that the building could be a tourist attraction if used in part as a museum. Mrs. Ashby stated that the DUP cabin in Memorial Park and DUP cabinets in the Junior High School halls are filled to capacity. Reports on the recent convention in Salt Lake City were given by Mrs. Barnett, Mrs. Ashby and Mrs. Dixon. Refreshments were served to 14 by Mrs. Ashby. Prayer was by Fern Jackson, chaplain; and the pledge was led by Mrs. Ashby. CAMP PETEETNEET Camp Peteetneet, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, met Thursday afternoon at the home of Mary Wyler, with Capt. Clara Horton in charge. Mrs. Horton gave the story of Maria Gleave, 83, who recently moved into the area. Mrs. Gleave last summer made a trip to Georgia to visit her daughter, and on the return trip by car, she traveled the same route that her grand- - THURSDAY, APRIL Utah pioneers, took in their trip west more than 120 years previous. The lesson, The Early Chinese of Western United States, was given by Mr. and Mrs. Myron Christensen and Mr. and Mrs. Milton Thomas visited at Lehi last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Ewell and children from Orem visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Ewell, last weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Bale and Mr. and Mrs. Dewain Sanderson visited at Manti last week. Taylor School observes National Library Week Storybook characters are coming to live as the Sixth Grade students at Taylor School in Payson observe national Libin rary Week (April presentation of an original opThe Wedding of Jack eretta, and Jill in auditoriums of all elementary schools in the community. The musical play was written by Mrs. Sherol Wilson, mother of a Sixth grader. It was directed by Joe Lynn Spencer, Sixth grade teacher, with piano accompaniment by Roseanne Johnson, a Sixth grade student. Mrs. Arthur Francom was in charge of costuming and Mrs. Garth Olson worked with the class in creating dances to go with music ahd script. Mr. and Mrs. Jess Livingston left for California last Friday.
