Finch family met at their home Wed. evening to honor their mother and grandmother on her birthday. Those present were the families of Mr. and Mrs. LeBaren Robbins, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Finch, and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Finch. The three other children living away are, Helen Bray of Belmont, Calif., Gerald Finch of Las Vegas, Nev., and David Finch of Wilmington, Deleware who called on the phone. Birthday greetings were extended on Sunday and Tuesday to Leo Thompson as family members assembled at his home. Sunday thirty members called and enjoyed visiting and a buffed dinner was served. On Tues. evening other members arrived. West Ward officers and teachers who attended General Sunday School meeting in Salt Lake Sunday night were Albert Kenison, C. H. Shepherd, Elmo Carlisle, Roy Williamson, Miles Hurst, Steve Wilson, Mrs. Ardell DeHart and Mrs. Thelma Tanner. Mr. and Mrs. Reid Wayman and daughters and Mrs. Crisie Hales and Mr. Walace Wayman of Provo returned Sunday from a four day vacation to Aspen, Colorado. A A Ti f H. v4 "f sent. Mr. and Mrs. Halvor Madson and new baby of Salt Lake visited at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Thatcher and Mr. and Mrs. Miles Hurst. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Schramm spent four days in Wyoming this past week at the home of Mrs. Schramms sister, Mrs. Flora Schwab. They enjoyed the birthday of her mother, Mrs. Sarah Passey. There were four generations present, fifty one in all present. The Schramms also attended a missionary farewell on Sunday evening at Freedom, Wyo. Dailey and Phylis Moon recently attended a Golden Wedding of Daileys cousin, Mr, and Mrs. Walter Horrocks of Santaquin. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sperry attended a birthday party recently in Salt Lake at the home of Kent and Coleen Smith in honor of her sister, Donna Sheen of Sunset. Others present were Mr. and Mrs. Monte Sperry and family of Layton and Mr. Orlynn Sheen and family and the Smith family. f. 1 V A V ing. Patients at the hospital from Mountain are Mrs. Ida Miller, Mrs. Rebecca Twede, and Steven Tanner son of Mr. and Mrs. Delos Tanner. West Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Rothe and family visited at Tooele with Mr. and Mrs. Albert Me Beth. They had a very enjoyable visit. Mr. and Mrs. Dailey Moon and family visited with Mrs. Moons brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wendell LeBaron of Gen-ol- a, on April 10 to help celebrate Mr. LeBarons birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Kester announce the arrival of a tiny little weighing 5 lbs. 4 oz., to Mr. and Mrs. Terry Kester. She was born Friday, April 14. Other grand-p- ar ents are Mr. and Mrs. George Culbertson and Mr. Lee of Spanish Fork and Mrs. Elizabeth Kester of Santaquin. The name chosen for the new arrival is Charla Kay Kester. er Mrs. Ruby Meredith, Mrs. Violet Gold and Mrs. Thelma Tanner were hostesses at a baby shower Friday evening at the Meredith home for Mrs. reVilda Erikson. Twenty-tw- o latives and friends attended. Games, program and singing of old songs was enjoyed by those present. Light refreshments were served. Many beautiful gifts were presented. Mrs. Myrle Meredith and Mrs. Bernice Thompson were hostesses at the West Mountain Camp of the DUP on Thurs. at the Meredith home. A history was read by Mrs. Thompson and the lesson presented by Mrs. Madge Garner. Mrs. Ethel Hirst Captain of the Camp, reported on April Convention in Salt Lake at which she was Miss Gloria Mower becomes bride of vows in Salt Lake Temple April 14 Brent Burraston in rites March The marriage of Colleen Huff daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Huff, Payson, and Ray Wilson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Veral Bud Nielsen, also of Payson, was solemnized Friday, April 14, in rites performed in the Salt Lake LDS temple. The couple was honored the following evening at a reception given in Payson First - Fifth Ward hall, where a color scheme of lavender and green combined with white was used effectively in hall decor and various details of the event. The bride chose a traditional wedding gown of white lace with bouffant skirt. The redingote Lady Firemen hold meeting Monday The Lady Firemen held their meeting last Monday. President Mrs. Frank Holm conducted. Litney was read by Mrs. Duane Patten. A party for the Fire Department on April 22 was discussed. Mrs. Jack Walker won the door prize. There were 10 members present, who brought their favorite dish to be enjoyed by all. The receipes of these dishes are to be compiled into a Cook Book. Wed. dinner guests at the Hill home were Mrs. A. style dress revealed a tier of narrow ruffles in the skirt front. A train, also of lace, swept the floor at back. The long sleeves tapered to a point over the wrists. Her veil was attached to a cluster of fabric flowers trimmed with pearls. The bridal bouquet was of lavender orchids and white chrysanthemums. Attendants wore empire dresses in alternating colors of lavender and green with tulle hats to match. Each carried a small umbrella filled with lavender carnations. Jean Spencer stood as maid of honor and other attendants were Mrs. Jerry Harris, Connie Dean Elmer, Payson; Beth Ann Cox, Manti; with Lou Ann Huff and Suzanne Nielsen as junior bridesmaids. Mothers of the couple were in green dresses with corsages of white mums. The bridegroom asked Wayne Huff to assist as best man. Foyer receptionists were Mr. and Mrs. Larry Huff of Boise, Idaho and Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Brown of Granger. Peggy Olsen and Jane Mendenhall attended the guest book. To receive guests, the bridal party stood before a wite corrugated panel with center lattice inner - lighted in green. A white can-ca- n draped across the top was marked with floral arrangements of lavender and green. Daisy chains attached to low pedestals topped with flowers were used as room dividers and the wedding cake was displayed on a round table with skirt, with green inner - lighting. Food served from a buffet carried out the lavender and green color scheme. A piece of white statuary with a bouquet of flowers stood at center. Jenean Noon was hostess at the punch bowl and girls who assisted with serving were Kathy Noon, Laurie Depew, D. White of Inglewood, Calif, and her twin sons, Brent and Byron Davis, students at the BYU. The brides mother chose a white jersey dress and Mrs. Burraston wore pale blue brocade. Each added a corsage of white gardenias and yellow ton roses. Kent Bigler was best man and ushers were Sam McIntyre, Frank Walker and Eric Stap-le- y, all of Eureka. Foyer receptionists were Mr. and Mrs. Lee Burraston, Mr. and Mrs. Max Mower. The misses Ellen Painter and Jill Higginson attended the guest book. The wedding party received guests before a white corrigat-e- d backdrop. White satin pillars with indirect blue lighting were arranged at either side, and a swag of white satin was draped across the top. Bouquets of blue flowers marked the arrangement. April 30 is the deadline for new applications for admission to autumn semester 1967. Students transferring from other colleges have until July 31. Also, all new freshmen must take the American College Test. The test will not be given again before the application deadline, but because some students have been unable to take it, BYU will accept scores of the May 13 American College Test. You have until April 22 to apply for it with your high school counselor. See him immediately! Nevertheless, your application for admission must reach BYU by April 30. Although enrollment is limited, BYU wants good scholars, and if you qualify, be sure to take the necessary steps, including investigation of housing and financial possibilities.
