Mrs. Ethel Hirst was host at a family dinner on Sunday. Following dinner, genealogy was discussed. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Beebe and son and daughter of Brigham City Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hirst and son of Salt Lake and Orville Gerow of Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Don L. Mickel-so- n of Farmington spent three days with their aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Charlas Miller. Club The Kitchen QT H met at the home of their leader Mrs. Marian Wilson, on Wed. They are studying food preparation and shopping tips. Those present were Terry Lynn That4-- cher, Shelley Jackson, Karla Schramm, Cherie Wayman, Nancy Wilson and Deirdie Ekins. PhiUip Erikson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Erikson, underwent knee surgery at the Payson Hospital. Kitchen Club 4-- H Mr. and Mrs. Abner Baird attended the funeral services on Sat., for Mr. Bairds brother, Wilford Baird of Salt Lake City. He passed away August 3, at the LDS Hospital and was buried at Syracuse, Davis County. Val McOmber of Provo and Randy Smith of South Dakota are spending a week with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Abner Baird. Kristine and Joanne Bartholomew of Springville are visiting with their Rebecca Twede. er, Ray and Jean Rothe and family spent six days visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Mitchel Stewart and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Rothe. Mr. and Mrs. William Tanner and family and Mr. and Mrs. Don Tanner and family attended the Jared Tanner family reunion at the Payson Park on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Thatcher Miss Charlene Colvin became Mrs. Richard LuRay Draper in nuptial rites performed June 30, In the Manti LDS Temple by John D, Rogers. After the ceremony, a wedding breakfast was given at the temple by the bridegrooms parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grandon LuRay Draper of Genola. The couple was honored at a reception given July 1, at the Nebo Stake Center by the bride s family attended the Appoloosa Horse Show at Logan on Friday. They showed two horses, Wakara's Pride and Mis Skit Skat. On their return home Sat. they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Afton Adams and Mr. and Mrs. DeVere Adams at Fielding. Deirdre and Brent Ekins, daughter and son of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Ekins, had the thrill of flying in a private plane to Evanston, Wo., to spend a weeks vacation with their uncle Dr. and Mrs. S. L. Ekins. Dr. Ekins flew them home again. and aunt, Mrs. Mary Young, mother of Mrs. Larry Pierce and Mr. Elmer Young, is a patient at the Payson Hospital. Leo Thompson is convalescing at home after recent sur- gery at the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Finch Mrs. Bob Finch and family and Mrs. David Finch and family of Willington, Deleware, attended the David T. LeBaron family reunion at the West Jordon Park in Salt Lake City on Saturday. A large crowd was in attend- ance. r NOW feted at wedding reception July 29 parents, The marriage of Linda Jean Strong , daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Strong, Payson, and Stephen Erickson Lundell, son of Mrs. Carl E. Lundell, Benjamin, was solemnized Friday, July 29, in rites performed at the Manti Temple. They were honored afterwards at a reception given in First-Fift- h Ward Payson church and later honeymooned in San Francisco, Calif. The couple will reside in Payson, where the new Mrs. Lundell is a teacher of first grade at Park View School. Mr. Lundell is employed at Benjamin by Nebo School District. For her wedding the bride chose a full length gown of rayon flat crepe styled with an empire waist and long tapered sieves. A train fell in soft folds from the lower back neckline. A petaled flower held her veil of illusion and she carried a white orchid nested in a bouquet of white rosebuds and carnations backed with green ivy leaves. Her sister, Mrs. JackScher-be- l, of Salt Lake City, stood as matron of honor and other Mr, and Mrs. Gene Colvin. A color scheme of pink and white was carried out. The wedding apparel was made by the bride. The straight floor-leng- th gown was made of with a rounded white neckline and long tapered coat was of sleeves. The white brocade and was accented by an empire bow. The brides veil of illusion was held by a crown of seed pearls. For her bouquet, the bride held a dozen long stemmed red roses with a background of fern and held by a red ribbon. satin, ne Connie Schaer rerat-tend- ed the bride as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Susan Taylor, Delaine Jones, Donna Daley, and Sharyl Hermansen. They wore sleeveless , ankle length sheath dresses of dark pink , accented by an empire bow. They each held a single white rose with fern as the background. Both mothers wore light pink suits and a gradenia and carnation corsage. Acting as best man was Dennis P. Jensen. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kropf and Mr. and Mrs. Burke Draper greeted guests in the foyer. Sitting at the guest book were Nanette Aagard and Mrs. Nadine Gift carriers were Hickman. Julie and Cindy Colvin, sisters of the bride; Clair and Hazel Draper, brother and sister of the groom; Lee and Lane Draper and Mary Jo Draper. Mortensen was honored by her family Sunday afternoon, when she celebrated her 80th birthday at her home in Payson. Mrs. Mortensen, former Nettie Jackson, was born August 6, 1886, in Alabama. She married Martin Junius (June) Mortensen in 1904 in Sanford, Colo. Theij marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple in 1920. Mr. Mortensen died in Payson, October 29, 1963. Her children are Ardeth Mortensen of Ogden; Frank Mortensen of Roy; Max Mortensen, Las Vegas, Nev. Mrs. Ammon (Helen ) Taylor, Mrs. Ned Taylor, both of Payson; Mrs. Cle-t- us (Barbara) Gilliland, Man-as- a, Serving the guests were Lana Karen Taylor, Shelly Fairbanks, Sandra Hone and Debbie Gray. The couple honeymooned in parts of Idaho, Montana and Wyoming for a week. They are now making their home in Murray, where both are employed. Mr. and Mrs. Kent Warner and daughter of Burbank, Calif., spent the past two weeks vacationing in Utah and Idaho visiting relatives and friends. In Pay-so- n, ,. Mr. and Mrs. Max R. Warner, they visited in Idaho Falls with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Beebe. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley and little daughters, Kerri and Wendy, arrived last week from their home in Pittsburgh, Pa., for a vacation and visit with relatives. Mr. Day said the price of the class schedule is 25 cents, 40 cents by mail. Registration forentering freshman is scheduled Wednesday, September 21. All continuing, former and transfer students will register Friday, and Saturday, September 23 and 24. Classwork begins Monday, September 26. Mr. and Mrs. Gould Dixon spent last week vacationing at Fish Lake, Bryce Canyon and Cedar Breaks. Lynn Wilson and family of Pasadena, Calif., vacationed in Utah and were guests at the home of his mother Mrs. Anna Wilson, last week. While they were here, Lynn had opportunity to visit with his three brothers, Mr. Hancock is a son ot Mr. and Mrs. Harry J. Hancock, Payson. The engaged couple will be wed August 24, in the Salt Lake Temple. The next evening a reception in the Santaquin-Tin-t- ic Stake Center will fete the couple. Miss Broadbent is a graduate of Payson High School, where she was student body secretary and active in the pep club. She has attended Brigham Young ed University and is presently in Provo. Mr. Hancock is also a graduate of Payson High School and has attended the Brigham Young University. He recently fulfilled an LDS Mission to Scotland.
