Show Forest Service warns GENOLA cf Fire Danger By Dorothy Thomas Mr. and Mrs. Rex Kerby from Mesa, Arizona, visited at the home of Bishop and Mrs. Walter Kerby on Saturday and Sunday. Mr. Nielson pointed out that ripened annual grasses and weeds will dry out even within minutes after a rain storm and become com- y parents. The bride-elechas attended the Brigham Young University for t 2 years and will continue her education at the University of Utah. David has fulfilled a mission to Canada and graduated from Utah State University. The young couple will make their home in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Erikson and family visited Tuesday with Mr. Eriksons mother, Mrs Grace Erikson, in Salt Lake, on her 71st birthday. Alene Broadhead of Salt Lake spent Monday with her sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Stickney. She came to watch the horse races. The Sticknes horse won first and third place in two different races. The DeLange family reunion was held Saturday at Arrowhead Resort. Lei Staheli, of Payson. Resource Class Two Payson teachers are among 30 Utah school teachers and administrators who have just completed a seminar and field study of Utahs natural resource Kenneth D. Butler, Spring Lake, a teacher of general science and biology at Beaver High School, and Terence A. Davis, Payson, a science teacher at Spanish Fork Junior High School. The seminar was offered under the auspices of the University of Utah, and extended from June 9 to 30. Dr. Elroy Nelson, vice president and economist for the First Security Corporation, and Dr. Osmond L. Harline, director of the Universitys Bureau of Economic and Business Research served as instructors. The seminar, designed to give participants an opportunity to learn firsthand about significant trends in the states natural resource industries ' District Engineer named (or Cen. Utah Project Carl H. Carpenter of Salt Lake City has been selected to serve as Staff Engineer for the Central Utah Water Conservancy District. The announcement was made by Mr. Lynn S. Ludlow, General Manager of the District. Mr. Carpenter has been employed as a hydraulic engineer by the U. S. Geological Survey since 1957 and ha&' been responsible for recent hydraulic investigations that have been carried out in areas to Lehmans Cave ih Nevada and one to Timpanoges Cave in American Fork recently. and Mrs. Sterling Spencer. Hill, who recently returned from the New Zealand L.D.S. mission, reported on his mission at Sacramet meeting Sunday evening. There was a large crowd in attendance and many of those present were from out of town. The Sunday School made a division in Course 9 and 11 Su morning. Mrs. Hyrun Gold was the teacher of Course 11 and reports twenty seven enrollment. Mrs. Ruby Meredith was the teacher of Course 25. Both classes hold a high percentage record for attendance. She has been employed for the last year at Daniels Drug and is at present acting as an attendant to Miss Payson. Mr. Staheli is also a graduate of Payson High School and L.D.S. Seminary where he served as studentbody president. He was active in athletics, acting as captain of the football and basketball teams. He filled a mission to the North CentralStates and since his return he has been attending the University of Utah. Both young people plan to continue their education at the University of Utah. J. Money, president of Nebo Stake, in Payson. Reed Junior Money and his wife and three children are on vacation from their home in Temple City, California, creating an opportunity for Mr. and Mrs. Dick Money and baby of North Ogden and also Mr. and Mrs. Gear (Dorene Money) Tanner and two of their four children to come home for the week. The men folk spent a couple of days at Strawberry and other outings included a steak fry in Payson Canyon and a visit to Park City. On Saturday the group celebrated the wedding anniversary of President and Mrs. Money by attending a show and having dinner in Salt Lake City. The Californians and Mrs. Reed Money spent the early part of this week in Ogden with the Dick Money family and the Gean Tanner family. A Mrs. Jennie Ewell from Lehi has been visiting with her daughter, the Fred Mechems, for a week. Mr. and Mrs. Alford Taylor entertained their daughters and husbands, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Rasmussen from Grantsville, Mr. and Mrs. Aldon Morrell from Salt Lake last week.
