Adkins, Under Secretary, Department of Health, Education, and Welfare, Washington, D. C., will be the key note speaker at the Utah Conference on Aging to be held at the Union Building, Uni' versity of Utah, Friday, September 16. She will speak at the general session, which begins at 1:30 p.m. This session of the conference is open to the public, particularly those interested in problems of the aging and aged. Miss Adkins is in charge of the special staff on aging for the January 1961 White House Conference. The morning session of the conference and the luncheon will be devoted to workshop in which committee groups members will formulate the recommendations which will be made to the White House Conference on Aging, and to state and local governments. They will consider problems of health and medical care, Social service, nursing homes, housing, employment, rehabilitation, education, mental health, income, leisure time activities, spiritual needs. The Utah Committee an Aging affords all senior citizens and interested persons an opportunity to express opinions about solutions to the problems of aging, and invites them to participate by making their suggestions known. Snow College has five home games on its I960 football schdule, opens season with Mesa With five games on the home schedule, the Snow College Badgers will begin preparations for a busy football season on Sept. 5 with physical and the isexams, weigh-i- n suance of suits scheduled for the morning and a workout slated for the afternoon. From there on out it will be two workouts a day as the Badgers strive to get in shape for an early opener against the Mesa Mavericks in Grand Junction on Sept 16, according to Coach Bob Stoddard. Coach Stoddard expects to have a fair assortment of turn out as well as the usual crop from the high school ranks. In addition he is extending an invitation to any interested athletes to try out for the Badger squad. An innovation in the ICAC schedule this fall - will have Carbon, Dixie and Snow playing home and home games. However, only one game in each series will count in the league standings, Stoddard said.
