Maurice Perstein, director of Lions International of San Francisco, California, was the guest speaker at the affair. He noted that at the time the club was organized that Calvin Coolidge was president and Jack Dempsey was world heavy weight boxing champion. Payson Lions Club, the fifth oldest club in Utah, was organized on January 8, 1924 and was given their charter March 4, 1924 by Lions International.
