The waters will be planted in the spring of 1958 with two to three inch trout. They wll remain closed for a year after the restocking to give the trout time to reach legal and larger size as they mature in the wild at a saving of the fishery dollar. In setting the chemical treatf ment program for 1958 and future such plans, the commissioners noted the success of the program in recent years and the need to make every water produce all the game fish possible in the face of the increased angling pressure. Largest such project to date was the successful treatment of Panguitch Lake nearly two years ago. Last year more than 95,000 pounds of trash fish were killed in eight waters in a continuation of the program. All are producing game fish this year. Morning Dove Season Seven day season of Dove hunting will be closed to parts of Utah County this year along with areas of Salt Lake County. Commissioners followed closely the recommendation of the organized agriculturists sportsmen of the state in setting up the closed areas for this year. dis-o- and hunt will be held the weekend 5 of September with 520 four-bir- d permits being authorized covering eight hunting units. They are the Parks, Randolph, Woodruff, Vernon, Blue Mountain, Diamond Mountain and Strawberry. No grouse hunting areas were set up for several Southern Utah sections where hunts have been held in the past when field reports showed bird numbers below normal due to the several recent drought years. Big Game Hunts Applications for the two early elk hunts set by the Utah Board of Big Game Control this year, the Mt. Dutton and Rich County, will be received at department 3. offices July one of for Anyone applying the two early elk seasons may not apply on the later application dates for the other hunts whether successful in drawing a permit or not. Sportsmen should take special note of this when applying on the Rich County unit where both an early season five-da- y notice and a later regular season hunt are scheduled. Applications for the three antelope hunts scheduled by the Board will be accepted on these same dates. Application dates for all other elk hunts will be received at the offices August Sportsmen were again reminded that all elk applications must be made by mail only in the special envelopes supplied at license vendors over the state and that the elk 14-1- Howell-Snowvill- e, These Communi-versit- y Twilight concerts were presented on the lawn in front of BYUs Eyring Science Center. application fee of $15 must be made by certified check, cashiers check or money order.
