APRIL 25, 1957 Building North of Gym to School Board State Convention of Federation of Womens Clubs Will be Held in Salt Lake City May Utah Federation of Womens Clubs will hold its 64th annual convention May 2 to 4 at the Hotel Utah. Mrs. Walter C. Ewing, state president, invites all club women to be in attendance. Three General Federation officers will attend meetings to deliver the main speeches. Harry Webster, president, was in charge. A total of approximately thirty sportsmen were present. Lou Hansen of the Big Game committee reported on the deer census count taken on the Nebo ' Area between Mona and Nephi. Harry Webster and Ellis Johnson from this club also aided on the census which was taken from horse back. Tfie total count was reported at 500 this year, 100 less than last year; but members who took part in this count feel it was too high. L. N. Snelson reported on the progress being made by the fish committee. After some discussion over the fish potentialities of Spring Lake, the Federations political representative, Francis Lundell, summarized his efforts on the clubs behalf at the Legislature and with the Governor. The remaining time of the meeting was turned over to Pres. Gordon Taylor of the Utah Valley Wildlife Protective Assn, of Provo, who briefed the group .on the proposed waterfowl marsh on the south end of Utah Lake. 2-- 4 On Thursday, May 2, at 7 p. dinner will be held for all state officers, all district presidents, and all state committee chairmen.
